Draft Day is an upcoming sports comedy-drama film directed by Ivan Reitman and is scheduled for release on April 11, 2014 to compete with Blue Sky Studios' animated film, Rio 2. The premise revolves around the general manager of the Cleveland Browns American football team desperately attempting to acquire the number one draft pick for his team. Filming began on May 8, 2013.

Not even close to as good as Moneyball, but good enough to watch. The problem is the side stories are kind of forced, and the movie is quite predictable. Also, the screen-splitting is kind of annoying. It actually kind of reminded me of Battlefield Earth, except that was totally ridiculous, this was just a bit annoying.

It's certainly not anything new but Draft Day has its charms and strong work from Kevin Costner in one of his best performances in a while. B-

While clearly a fully authorized NFL® product, Reitman brings an old fashioned charm to Draft Day that won me over. Sure, it's a bunch of nonsense, but what a wonderful bunch of nonsense it is.

6 out of 5.

Well I love drafts so it's up my alley, but one of my favorite sports movies of this era (which isn't saying much but anyways). Had a good charisma and focus and wasn't afraid to throw in an unrealistic twist. Enjoyed myself

It's fun but it is the definition of a Saturday afternoon TNT/USA film.

Needed more Clark Kent and Diggle though.

Draft Day

An interesting look at an area of sports that I an unfamiliar with. On the whole, it is a waste of a movie because the deals just add drama instead of any gain in the outcome, but I didn't hate watching Costner and co. play out this type of high-stakes game of business exchange. I got into it, especially because of my friend who is an avid fan of US sports.

A nonconventional sports film told in a very conventional way. All of the subplots are weak, but when it gets down to it (especially the last half hour) it's really great. I loved the way Reitman shot it and Costner is really terrific in it. Overall, it's very watchable, that plays much better on TV than in a theater. B+

I don't remember about that especially, but I liked this film.
