cook your own? 90% of the good food out at restaurants and stuff you can make at home. I'm just too lazy to put in the time and effort that's why I go out most of the times.

I am too lazy to put in the time as well but I do not go out so end up eating crap like cereal or PB&J. Basically anything that takes about 2 min or less to prepare.

Plus I get home from work at like 7:30 and do not want to spend an hour cooking.

I prepare stuff (salads, sandwiches, soups, TJ stuff) and make easy TexMex stuff. Will sometimes bake. Otherwise, I'm usually just snacking on junk or eating out.

Lately I've been baking pies. I've been doing it the easy way purchasing the premade dough, but I mix up the filling and bake it. It's always satisfying to bake your own pie but it can be pricey. I've done a blueberry, peach, apple and cherry. I think I want to try putting bananas+something in one next to see how that goes.

For some reason, your post is making me think of those prepackaged Hostess pies that are usually found in the oldest, ghetto-ist vending machines. They frighten me.

I think I might use the Outback gift card I got for Secret Santa (lol, it turns out the girl I barely knew had me too, what are the odds...so she got me a restaurant gift card) to go have a gross fattening delicious dinner with some girlfriends tonight. Blooming onion here I come.

What did you get the girl? Btw, for white elephant, I just gave a bottle of scotch I had sitting around (Glenlivet 12). It's not my fav, but it was obviously a popular gift.

Skins game in T-54m. Woooot.

Planning to get absolutely demolished (it's the holidays and I'm Jewish. Why not?! I'm on 'vacation') so even Outback might taste decent. There's a Skins bar out here, and I need a decent amount of chemicals in my system to tolerate it.

Just had a big Christmas lunch earlier - Roast Pork, Potatoes, Prawns and desert Trifle, Rocky Road and Cake Pops. Can't move now.

Its then off to the in-laws for more food and likely endless Hennessy.

Dearest Magnus --

Going to the new Volttagio restaurant (Range) on Sunday for a pre-SNF celebratory dinner. Go Skins!

Don't know if I'm so excited because it's Volttagio (I've been to ink in LA a few times -- it's good, not great) but for the foie, which has been banned in LA

So in not particularly interesting news, I received a $50 gift card to Chipotle the other day. I feel like I'm going to hyperventilate, in a good way. Think of all the guacamole!

That's why I haven't ventured out there yet. Passed by once and it looked like it was overflowing.

i do not understand the fascination with chipotle. practically any mexican place can make something better. anyway...

can we talk about jose andres some more? i'm going to bazaar tomorrow for v-day and am slightly distressed that his SLS hotel association is making him appreciated in the wrong way

going to napa for the long weekend and will finally do french laundry, so that'll be exciting. i don't think i've ever had reservations lined up for five days in a row

A umami offshoot just opened by my work and it's gross

"Umini"

You need to order by iPad. Which, 50% of the time, is screwy.

I wonder if it is the same as the Wasabi's where I am. I've been there once, I don't eat sushi though. Don't remember what I ordered, some kind of chicken. It was good.

I've had sushi once in my life. Just a regular shrimp roll. It was pretty good.
