Ponor got ripped out of that Bronze on beam and I thought her score in floor should have been closer to Aly's. 15.2 with all those stuck landings. smh.

I'm looking forward to the 200m final. I hated how the did the mens high bar final. That was weak, but it was cool to see the guy who got gold with all those releases and the all important stuck landing. Cool to see the Aussie win the 100m hurdles as well.

oh and the attempt for a 3rd beach volleyball gold will be fun to watch too.

random question, but why do the individual gymnastics events come AFTER the team event and the all-around event?

To me, there would be so much more buildup if you had the individual events come first and then build into the team event and then have the all-around be last. All the individual events the past few weeks have been so anticlimatic.

One reason is that the preliminary round of team event determines the lineup for individual event finals, but they could have individual finals after the team preliminary and then come back to it afterward as you suggested.

I guess China will be medal count winner. At least here (We count most gold not most medals).

Allyson winning the 200m final was awesome. I was rooting for the Frasier Pryce girl from Jamaica though. She got 2nd.

Bummer for Veronica Campbell Brown. I like her name and her look. She got 3rd in the 100 and was unable to defend her 200. Also bummed for the american girl in the hurdles. I think it was 400m hurdles, I think...I liked her story and she had come back to be world champion but she got edged out by this Russian. Awww.

The volleyball was a bit anticlimatic since it was US vs US unfortunately.

Not all, still three more diving events, and they could contend in synchronize swimming,Taekwondo (one gold medal match today), one sailing event, and possibly rhyth. gymnastics.

They won't win the total medal count because of the U.S. dominance in track & field (and the lack thereof for China), but the gold medal count will be close. If the boxing team had performed better, U.S. would have had a bigger cushion.

I'm recording the gold medal soccer match today... so I have to avoid twitter/facebook until I get home to watch it. First time I've ever done something like this. USA!

Oh, Bolt could have broken 19 seconds in 200m final if he hadn't slowed down in the end.

I love the US women's team! So good. Hope Solo with an INCREDIBLE save. And Alex Morgan is wonderful.

Wow, what a competition for the last diving gold! First a rare re-dive, and then all the intensity throughout. Qiu didn't lose today; rather Boudia won it. The qualities by the divers in the final were just incredible. A single judge's score ended up deciding the match; Qiu and Boudia did the same dive in the last round with the scores tied, and Qiu got 2 9.5 and 1 9.0, while Boudia got 3 9.5. Amazingly close.

The US leads now in total medal wins and gold medals. I guess they are now the winner nation.
