Beasts of southern Wild will be the only one that will have any potential impact on the Oscar race. Though I guess Amour could win Best Foreign.

Amour should win Best Foreign, given the 100%/9.1 RT average and the fact that The White Ribbon lost despite being a heavy favorite. Could receive one or two other nominations too.

I'm surprised they gave it to Haneke again so soon.

No film really stood out this year from the reaction I read. There wasn't an overwhelming best film. Though from the reaction I read seemed that those who loved Amour REALLY loved it.

Had Cosmopolis been perhaps as good as everyone hoped it would be (most of the reactions say its a letdown), perhaps it would have won.

the book is shitty. considering all of the delillo novels that would make great movies, i don't know why he chose that one.
