I randomly saw this in the morning, it was actually pretty enjoyable. I've never been that keen on Paul Rudd but I thought he was adorable and really funny.

This was such an enjoyable movie. The whole cast was fun to watch. Rudd is of course the stand-out. He was so lovable here. This was a really cute, breezy comedy with a lot of laughs.

8/10 (A-)

I wonder if Paul Rudd could receive a Best Actor in a Musical/Comedy nomination at the Globes.

B+

Had some really good moments. Loved the dog angle. And the charades scene was aces.

Could it have been any cheesier when the dog ran through the prison and found Ned? C'mon. :P This movie's third act tried so damn hard to get the audience cheering...I just found it alienating and fake.

Oh no! You're right! I feel completely alienated by a movie!

OMG!

I read your review before seeing it and honestly I didn't feel like the ending was sequence after sequence of happy endings. The finale is happy to be sure, but it didn't feel overly false. It was a nice movie and had a nice ending. It left me with a big smile on my face and I didn't feel guilty about it :P.

Our Idiot Brother was nowhere near idiotic enough.

While I liked this heartwarming tale, and can no longer resist the charm of Paul Rudd, I retained hope for some proper idiocy - - a hope that sadly remained unfulfilled.

Idiots.

2 out of 5.

It's a really nice, easy comedy. Definitely something I could find myself watching again and again. Nothing out there but just a plain ol' good comedy. ***

Watched it again over the weekend. Still found it to be a really cute film but would probably go with a B+, not an A-.

Our Idiot Brother

I guess back in 2011 this cast didn't look so impressive, but if all of these starred in a film today it would be much more of a big deal. I love every actor in this, and they are all superb. Paul Rudd is excellent. He has three gorgeous sisters played Zooey Deschanel, Elizabeth Banks, and Emily Mortimer. Each of them has a love interest played by Adam Scott, Steve Coogan, and Rashida Jones. Then there's Kathryn Hahn and T.J. Miller to round it off. And is it funny? You betcha! The film's dramatic moments don't really work because it has this whimsical atmosphere going on, but that's cool man ... the comedy and awkwardness keeps coming.

And I think Christopher Peterson did a remarkable job with the clothing. Some of the dress that Elizabeth Banks and Zooey Deschanel wear is amazingly hot.

B+
