Re: Obama didnt do well so far.....
This will reduce the deficit and and lead to a boom in the growth of small businesses which will lead to increased tax revenue, kind of like trickle-down economics. Nancy Pelosi would not lie and I trust that she could make a better health care decision for me than I could.

Megan McArdle has been pretty lively in the wake of the bills passage and has made some good points, including some predictions about the bill. http://www.theatlantic.com/business/archive/2010/03/8-predictions-for-health-care/37826/

So 90% of the people here are in favor of this... while 90% of people I know are against it...

Re: Obama didnt do well so far.....
Judging by the comments in here, Me, Grill (god I feel dirty), Snack, and Krem seem to be against the bill. Trixster and Dr. Lecter are from countries with similar programs and seem to be at least tacitly in favor. Chipmunky, Magnus, and Xiayun seem to be in favor.
Doesn't seem to be 90% in favor.

Sorry. I meant people that matter.
By having Grill on your side, obviously you're wrong.

You/SNACK vs. Xiayun
I'll take Xiayun any day of the week.

Re: Obama didnt do well so far.....
I wouldn't say I'm in favour of this bill specifically (I don't know much, if anything, about it), I'm just in favour of universal healthcare in general.

Medicare/Medicaid alone was already the biggest hit on the budget, more than defense with two wars going on. Add this and they'll be spending a RIDICULOUS amount on healthcare that isn't even socialized... the healthcare budget is single handidly putting baby in a corner. Before this most socialized healthcare countries spend 8-10% of the GDP on healthcare while the US was at like 16-18%. That's right... the US govt. was already spending 2x as much of their budget on healthcare as all the universal healthcare ones. And they just added more. us healthcare is broken. Pay More and get less.

Re: Obama didnt do well so far.....
I've been able to reduce my debt significantly the last year thanks in part to all of the work Obama is doing. He's giving the average joe the room he needs to make life better. everything will catch up. by the end of his second term, the deficit will be back down to manageble levels. hopefully another democrat then gets elected.....
Have there ever been two different democrats Presidents elected back to back?

Re: Obama didnt do well so far.....
Nope. The only time (after the 1850's) a Democratic President followed another was when the predecessor died or was killed while in Office. FDR > Truman and Kennedy > Johnson.

Have there ever been two different democrats Presidents elected back to back? How has Obama helped you reduce your debt and that of the average Joe? And even if he has, is that his job?
