Alright, look, I'm not trying to pick a fight here, but Mav's thread is really, really offensive to me. It's chalked full of transphobia, which might not be on the radar for most of you, but living and studying in a place where I'm in contact with transpeople makes it really uncomfortable for me. If the thread were calling Mulisms, African Americans, or gays "disgusting" or freaks, would the thread still be tolerated? I'm not sure where the extent of KJ's policy on censoring or closing threads ends, but to me this is rather egregious. Keep it open, but at least acknowledge that it's rather hateful.

Frankly, I don't think I have the strength or patience to provide you with a new perspective on these issues, but should you genuinely care and want to understand what I'm talking about, starting with JSTOR is probably a good way to go. Browse any of these articles - the subject matter varies, but I think you might be shown some different perspectives that could be eye-opening.

I'll take a look into it but with that said if someone takes offense to comments about their life style choice or religion, I do think it should be catered around to those individuals to make the forums more at ease with them. As anyone knows, I do like to make jabs here and there about scientology and will keep doing so until someone who shares that same religion in that forum takes offense to it

I'm not trying to police things or dictate what's politically correct and what's not; jabs and puns are different than persistent attacks on people or lifestyles, I'd say. There's a pretty clear delineation between good humor and bigotry.
