Wow, so I was reading a review of the first season on DVD, and I asked "When is it coming out?!" and I read that the first season of "Rescue Me" is being released tomorrow! So, then I asked "But, when's the second season start?!" and I found out it's June 21st, on FX! Yeah, I normally ask and answer my own questions. The third sign of insanity. Anyway, the firefighter drama starring Denis Leary is back in two weeks. I admit, it's not everyone's cup of tea, but I thought it was a great show. Be sure to pick up the first season tomorrow on DVD. |

I've only had a chance to catch one episode (Because I never know when it's on), but I liked what I saw very much. I won't pick up the DVD tomorrow, but I will eventually buy the first season, along with Denis Leary's other show The Job. That's definetly a show that deserved a longer run than it got. |

I watched Rescue Me. Though I missed maybe 1 or 2 episodes, including the finale. I watched mostly cuz of Nip/Tuck... it led me to it. It's not really my kind of show, but I actually did like it alot because behind the machoness of the show, I do believe there is a core that sets out to seek and explain these characters or the people they represent. And I'm all about character. I have to rent the first season DVD to check ouyt the finale, so I can start season 2. Anyone know when Nip/Tuck's coming back on? |

I believe Nip/Tuck will be back once Rescue Me finishes its second season, which is at least 13 weeks from Rescue Me's premiere. |

What is it about? If you want to create fans for the show, probably best to tell us more about it and what you like about it. |

Well, I just finished watching about 5 hours of Season 1 episodes and I'm all caught up. I taped the premiere and I'm gonna watch it in a matter of minutes. The show actually got really good. I mean I always thought it was good, but it got better towards the end of the season! |

WOW. That was a DAMN good episode. Probably the best episode of Rescue Me. I always thought the show was pretty well thought out and written and had some heart, but not quite enough. This episode proved that it goes beyond everything in Season 1. I love the fact that they are just going to deal with everything, however messed up it is. It really kept on going and showed the aftermath of what happened last season. It didn't just tie up all the ends and find a new direction. |

At first, I was disappointed, because I figured Tommy would stop drinking, he would come back to the original firehouse, make amends with Franco, and maybe the family plot would be ongoing all season. But, it wasn't that way at all! They left everything to be decided over the season, and that's great. I'm glad it wasn't tied up nicely, which far too many shows do in their season premieres. Great episode indeed. |

The show is a bit different this season, while still being the same overall (if that makes sense). I love how when it seems something is going to go right, it only gets to be more of a mess (Tommy finding his family, only for them to leave again). |

Mr. X wrote: Anyone else still watching? I finally saw the third episode, entitled "Balls". I am still watching. I missed the second one but caught the repeat on Sunday. It was pretty good. And yes, I watched this week's and although it was a very good episode, better than last week's, it makes me want to retract some of the great things I said about the opener. I was kind of let down that they tied up 2 huge problems from the cliffhanger so they can put the show back on its normal route. One of them was handled very neatly and one of them was very serious. SPOILERS AHEAD.... I thought the whole Sully storyline was crap. I seriously felt that was one of the lowest lows this show has gone down to and there really aren't many. It was a blatant way to get the original feeling back with the crew. I actually really enjoyed seeing the entire firehouse operate without Tommy and tommy trying to make it in the other event-less firehouse. I liked it in part because it kept the dynamic real and partly because it was more interesting to watch, a new different direction. I had no doubts Tommy would be back in the firehouse, but they pulled it too soon. The whole Sully plotline was rushed. They should have built up more... Maybe the guys found a piece of women's wear in the firehouse and the chick said it wasn't hers, so they thought someone musta hooked up or something, but it was suspectful cuz theyd tell each other that stuff and no one was talking. 3 episodes wasn't enough to just get rid of something like that. It makes the fact that they happened to bust a fire in the same underground bi-gay orgy club that their co-worker attends less believable as a coincidence. They should have waited till mid-season. Now, the next issue is far more of a dilemma to justify. In my opinion, the miscarriage route is always an exceelent plotline because personally the loss of a child and a parent's mourning is one of the few things that really affects me when watching movies/tv. However, the fact that they did that to avoid a really messy plotline down the line is not very honorable. Then again, it is quite believable and the way the episode ended was great; I loved it. Bottom line is I wouldn't mind if they dealt with the loss of the baby this season and then he gets over her by next season, but the fact that both these tie ups to loose ends happened in the same episode kinda pished it for me. I don't want anyone to misunderstand me. I still think it's one of the best shows around and one of the freshest material in the past few years. I think it's well written, well acted, and a great show. I usually only get picky and go into this type of details about shows that I have invested something in and that I care about. That being said, the most exciting story I hope develops pretty well is the revelation that she lost the baby and it should happen pretty soon cuz well the bulge is not gonna stay there for longer than 72 hours. I hope they handle it with care. Looking forward to the next episode and still pissed that Nip/Tuck's premiering late this year! :???: |

It sort of seemed two separate people have been writing this season (well... the three episodes have been penned by Leary and Peter Tolan). One guy has been writing up until halfway through the third episode, then someone new came in. I agree, the Sully incident was WAY too quickly placed, and there was no build-up. It was like they were dissatisfied within a second, and changed the direction immediately. Same with Franco and the girl (can't remember Diane Farr's name on the show). She rejected him for months, and then all of a sudden, she wants to have sex with him? She admitted she wasn't all that drunk, and didn't flip out like I thought she would. Again, with Franco and Tommy. They seemed to patch that up within seconds. Franco has been such a pain in the ass towards Tommy, and one three-minute conversation changed him? Those were my gripes. I hope it means that there's going to be lots more to deal with soon. I do think it's interesting where the Probie is going in the storyline, now wielding a gun and stalking his ex. Anyone think Garrity might think he's gay, after the Sully incident? And, I hope Tommy's uncle didn't get whacked. Lenny Clarke is great. |

You know, I thought that at first after the whole deer in the meadow thing but, i dont think so anymore cause of the way he acted after finding out about Sully. As for Teddy, i really hope he didnt die but, i think he did because of what Tommy's bro said and what Tommy said to his dad. :gnight: R.I.P Teddy |

I think the Teddy storyline is leading to something more. They keep mentioning it and I don't think it's just to get it out of the clear. I have a feeling it's gonna turn out to be something much larger after a few episodes or maybe towards the end of the season! |

I thought Tommy's brother only assumed (or had a good idea) that Tommy's uncle was dead. Did he say for sure that he was dead? |

I want the first season on DVD, damn it. It sucks living here, where the best place to buy DVDs is Walmart, the most unreliable place for DVDs. They did have ONE set left of "The Job", but it's almost $60. If memory serves me correctly, The Job lasted only 19 episodes. I don't have a clue why it costs that much, considering most sitcoms/comedies/half hour shows (hard to categorize them all) cost between $25 and $45, and it's usually 22-24 episodes of popular shows for $45. So, it's a bit baffling. I expected $30 at the most, not $60. |

Yesterdays episode kicked ass in my opinion, I was so happy when Tommy didn't start drinking like they made the previews look like. I can't wait for next weeks it looks fantastic from the commercials. I just hope they can keep up this level of excellency in the show. |
