I can’t keep pace posting it every day with how boring network ratings are, but I will post the important parts

Quote:
The opening round of Jeopardy: The Greatest of All Time drew big ratings for ABC on Tuesday night — bigger, in fact, than any other primetime series telecast this season.

The limited-run game show, featuring Jeopardy hall of famers Ken Jennings, Brad Rutter and James Holzhauer facing off, drew 14.37 million viewers, the second-largest audience for any entertainment program on the networks so far this season. It trails only Sunday's Golden Globes on NBC, which averaged 18.32 million viewers.

The show's 2.4 rating among adults 18-49 is the fourth-best same-day mark for an entertainment show this season, trailing the Globes (4.7), ABC's Little Mermaid Live (2.6) and the season premiere of The Masked Singer (2.5) on Fox.

Quote:
Elsewhere Tuesday, the premiere of musical dramedy Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist put up so-so numbers for NBC with a 0.6 in adults 18-49 and 2.69 million viewers. The episode will live on streaming for six weeks before the show's on-air return Feb. 16. The premiere of Ellen's Game of Games drew 1.0 and 1.1 in the 18-49 demo for its two episodes and averaged 4.5 million viewers, behind last season's averages of 1.4 and 6.2 million.

Big for Jeopardy and worrisome for Zoey

Any reason as to why ABC moved back Grey's to the 9pm slot on thursdays?

The XFL - 3.3 million. AAF did 2.9. Probably going to drop like a rock.

Record low in viewership for the Oscars, second lowest 18-49 https://variety.com/2020/tv/news/oscars ... 203499199/

No host makes for a better show but probably worse ratings once you get past the novelty of the first one

Odd considering this had to have been one of the higher grossing BP lineup I can remember.

But also not odd because literally the only thing people watch live now are sports.

Yeah I don't think people are invested in staying with Oscars for 3+ hours and mostly odd hours everywhere.

Awards shows, like traditional talk shows and multi-camera sitcoms, are something people adored long ago because there wasn't anything else to watch and we didn't have so many options. It's kind of odd how so much evolves over time, but the three things I just listed have largely stayed the same in 2020. Ricky Gervais has come closest to infusing life into the horrifically boring award show, but celebrities hate being criticized, so we get James Corden dressed up as a cat, making fun of a film he likely thought would make him a mega star he so desperately craves to be.

Ratings will never go up for something so old-fashioned. People will be invested occasionally if a film they like is up for awards, but that's such a small list of people who care that genuinely.

Speaking of Corden, and I guess I should've guessed this... but apparently he's a fucking dickhead.

What gave that one away? The dude is desperate as fuck to be famous. I can't believe I watched his Late Late Show when it first started.

Oh I think I just saw a twitter viral post about someone who went to a taping... and then all the replies were people with similar stories. And after reading a few I was like... yeah, that makes complete sense now.

I'd imagine Colbert, Seth, Conan are all nice people.

I've heard stories about Conan being great, especially during tapings. I guess "stories" in favor of someone are as reliable as stories against someone, but I've never heard anything bad about him.

I love to see Good Girls that high. Love that show. I wish the ratings were better. People are really sleeping on it. I keep wishing it would catch on. If NBC cancels it I really hope someone else picks it up. I don't really want to say Netflix though because they wouldn't keep it long. Could definitely do fine for a cable network. Especially one aimed at females.

They could just make episodes straight to Peacock if it's that big a streaming asset

Ruby Rose quit Batwoman. They are recasting.

Stumptown was cancelled despite getting a renewal earlier (COVID related reasons)

Venture Bros getting cancelled hurts. Stupid new CEO of Adult Swim came in and wanted to establish that it was his party now, and Niche shows that take three years in between seasons have no more place I guess. F U.

The good news is this would be perfect for HBO Max, who already own the rights I believe. The last season averaged about 650k viewers, which is not all that great on TV. Getting six hundred thousand new subscribers to your platform for one show though? That's what streaming services dream of.

Shit that's bad and Season 3 ended on a cliffhanger... ugh. I know why this happened but it sucks regardless.
