Season Four is probably my favourite.

We talked about how great the show is in general and it's hard to pick favorites, but I'd have to say the same.

Now reminiscing about the season 7, I love what they did with Seinfeld too, but the best gueststars for me have been Stiller and Schwimmer, they play so perfect off Larry.

Yeah, Schwimmer and Stiller are the best duo guest stars in any season, followed closely by Jason Alexander and Jerry Seinfeld from Season Seven. Also from Season Seven is Christian Slater, which adds something. Season Six has Steve Coogan, but yeah, nothing tops Season Four.

I must say, I love Philip Baker Hall's appearance in Season Four.

I love Philip Baker Hall. He's great in season 4 and in season 7 as well, where it surprised at first the S4 incident wasn't addressed, but then again it's common in Curb and love how he does not want Larry to call and visit and yet he does, great actor.

One more episode to go. Wow, what a ride. I'll miss watching it.

Oh, so yeah, I finished the season 8 a couple weeks back finally.
Great stuff all around.

Premiere was vintage. Like slipping into your go to pajamas. Maybe a few forced cameos, not in a way that hurt it though, just Cheryl and Ted were pretty meaningless.

Welcome back!

Just watched the new episode and everyone looks so old, but apart from that that, nothing really has changed and I had a great time with it.

When it started, it was jarring to see how polished it looked and then how much older everyone is. The cameos were distracting, like they only had one episode to bring everyone back.

Once that was all forgotten about, the episode was a classic Curb.

"No cocksucker, foisted!"

Loved episode two, a bit over the top too, but nice appearances from old friends, and the Ted asking Larry to date Cheryl part had me cracking up, loved it.

Another great episode, a cameo overload pretty much, but several great bits. Just Cheryl she has really aged, I thought she looked great in previous seasons, but she has lost all appeal now. Everyone else from old is still great though, Suzy, Dan, all good stuff.

Through episode 5 this is definitely Curb like old, the what face did he make stuff is just brilliant.

There's no main story line in this season I realize now though, it was about the "Fatwah" from episode one, but now it's not a thing anymore. The accidental-on-purpose-text, and just call everybody honey concepts are played out great in the last episode.

The title of the last episode would suggest everything will come full circle.

Namaste is another good episode, nothing very memorable in there, but classical Curb, it feels to be coasting at this point. I was about a week behind, should see ep.8 soon, and then sadly just 2 left (again).

Episode 8 was another great one, with the continuation of the Fatwah plot and it's closure of it too I suppose then. Funkhouser just always makes for some great scenes too, and love the "flip-the-tip" thing. Also the episode opened with the PDA bit from the trailer, which seemed meh then, but within the show it works so much better.

Episode 9 was good, appreciated the extended length (43min I think), the judge Judy part was great, but overall it was not as good as the best episodes of this season. As long as Larry keeps doling out his take on life's situations this show can just keep on running though, he's far from running out of material I feel, even if not every bit is as good as the other. Look forward to the season's finale.

I watched the last two episodes and just realized I missed episode 8. I'll have to watch it on demand. Anyway, I think it was an overall solid season. Not its best by any stretch, but considering the show has been on since 2000 and it's been six years since Season 8, it was a great season. I do hope the show comes back again, but I wonder if going as many seasons as Seinfeld is enough for Larry.

Totally agree with you there Mister Ecks.

I didn't think it was a great finale, but it was a good episode nonetheless of a great season overall.
Fatwah was a good story line, I didn't really like this was culminating with a musical again, but then it didn't only functioning as a backdrop and working well.
Definitely hope the series continues.

Generally, you can feel the age on the characters, but aside from Cheryl none of them are bothering. Suzy has definitely gotten milder anyway, and I loved every bit of Funkhouser in this.
Larry is the star though, aside from having to get used to an older HD Larry in the first episode he's as good as he ever was. The back and forth with Miranda in the last two episodes is good fun.

I really loved this season. The formula never gets old.

My favorite actor of the season was Lauren Graham. I dug her role (and inevitable end to her storyline).

It doesn't indeed, it was great to have it back.

I'm not sure who's my favorite guest appearance this season.
Offerman was good in the last episode too.

Just watched episode 1 of season 9. Eh, too polished for me. Larry is too forthcoming in his rudeness and too happy about it. There is no misery at his situation. No "life pressing down on his shoulders". It's all too smug. It is like a parody of the previous 8 seasons. Nothing new was created. No new Larry rules or funny lines. The episode structure is the same, which is good how it comes back to bite him in the ass. But so far, this new season is a mistake. At this moment it just feels like when I finish the 10th episode, I will never revisit this season again. :(

Episode 2 was better. The bit with the hotel and the biscuits/tongs, Shara coming back, the hot hooker etc. But it still doesn't feel right. The lighting is way off. It's too bright. Everyone has a shine. All the characters feel forced to adhere to their season 1-8 caricatures. It feels like a fan-made season 9 where the fans would naturally accentuate and parody the character's peculiarities instead of creating new, clever material and developing these characters more.
