Quote:
The straight-to-series eight-episode drama centers on reporter Camille Preaker (Amy Adams) who returns to her hometown to cover the murders of two preteen girls. Eventually, she finds herself identifying with the girls too much.

Patricia Clarkson, Chris Messina, Madison Davenport, Eliza Scanlen and Elizabeth Perkins also star.

Marti Noxon is acting as show-runner and writer, with Jean-Marc Vallée (“Big Little Lies”) directing every episode. Flynn will write multiple episodes of the series.

Entertainment One is the studio.

Jason Blum, Charles Layton and Jessica Rhoades for Blumhouse Productions will all act as EPs, along with Vallee, Adams, Flynn and Noxon.

Blumhouse first optioned “Sharp Objects” in 2011.

I can't wait for this. Loved the book and Amy Adams. Vallée and HBO have done a great job with Big Little Lies. I trust this will be another winner.

Ooh nice. After BLL - happy to see another Big Star/HBO/Vallee book adaptation.

That first episode was really solid. I can already tell this is going to be quite a slow burn, but I'm intrigued enough to stick with it.

The traumatic, Gothic story of one woman's epic journey to drive drunk to the entire Led Zeppelin catalog. ;)

I enjoyed the first episode quite a bit.
