 This drama-suspense miniseries, set in early-19th-century Africa and England, premieres Tuesday, January 10th, on FX. It stars Tom Hardy and House of Cards' Michael Kelly. It is co-created by Hardy, his father, and Steven Knight, with whom Tom previously collaborated on both Locke and Peaky Blinders. I am super, super excited for this. It is honestly appealing to me in every conceivable way. |

I enjoyed the premiere, but not as much as I hoped. Right now, it almost plays as Hardy doing thespian heavy lifting in a grisly-yet-generic vacuum. The various strings of conflict and mystery and rotten-teeth/pig-slaughter theatricality did not grab me immediately. I will continue to watch, though, of course. |

One of life's finer pleasures! Not to be totally off, I'm gonna wait for the whole season to come out then watch it. Looks like a good show. |
