Brooklyn Nine-Nine
Anyone else about to watch this? Best reviewed new comedy of the fall.
I tuned on the TV 20 minutes early and my spirit is already being crushed by the sheer unmitigated awfulness of Dads. Holy shit.

Re: Brooklyn Nine-Nine
Yep, this was enjoyable. Loved the random twist of Andre Braugher's captain being gay and Andy Samberg being, y'know, Andy Samberg.

Re: Brooklyn Nine-Nine
Dads might be one of the biggest colossal failures ever. How do so many talented people come together and make one of the worst pilots in the last decade?
Brooklyn Nine-Nine was, for better or worse, decent. I didn't love it. I've seen the genre tackled way better elsewhere, but it's not a write-off yet.

I like Samberg, I'll check it out.

Re: Brooklyn Nine-Nine
I really enjoyed - particularly the three girls who were great. I usually don't like Samberg, but definitely did not mind him at all in this.

Re: Brooklyn Nine-Nine
This was really good I thought. Not the funniest half hour of television, but the most important thing in a comedy is the chemistry between the cast. BNN aced this in the first episode.

Re: Brooklyn Nine-Nine
Episode 2 was funny. I feel like this show is capable of greatness somewhere down the line, it just has that vibe to it.
It's no surprise the vibe feels very similar to Parks & Rec, which is from the same people.
Also, Andy Samberg and Andre Braugher is a comic pairing made in heaven. Who knew.

The ensemble definitely works very well, similar to Parks and Rec.

Re: Brooklyn Nine-Nine
Episode 3 was really funny. If this show is able to survive its time slot, I think they have something special here.
The biggest laugh in this one for me was Andre Braugher's face walking in on the at-risk kids chanting "BLACK PEOPLE CAN SELL DRUGS!"

The scene with Chelsea Peretti's dance was HILARIOUS. She's my favorite character so far.

Woo! Fox gave BNN a full season order, and more importantly it will air after New Girl on Superbowl Sunday!

The line about Dina Lohan face cream last night may have been the highlight in another very funny episode.

Re: Brooklyn Nine-Nine
This show is so confident and sure of itself for a new series, it's great. Definitely the best new comedy of the season, edging out Trophy Wife for me.

Re: Brooklyn Nine-Nine
Other than that awful, grating Adam Sandler cameo that dragged the show down for about 5 minutes while it was occurring, really liked tonight's post-Super Bowl ep. Andre Braugher was golden and I loved the Moneyball reference

Re: Brooklyn Nine-Nine
I actually thought that was the funniest thing Sandler has done in years. That's not saying much, but it's worth something. I also loved the Moneyball reference.
First time watching the show tonight, and I liked it. It's pretty much a joke factory that couldn't care less about the story, but it was freakin' hysterical and that's what matters most. Just set it up to record on my DVR for the rest of the season.

This show has been so consistently funny and last night was no exception. I agree that cameo was some of the best comedy Sandler has done in years.

Re: Brooklyn Nine-Nine
I watched the series for the first time last night and found it very amusing, including the Adam Sandler bit. "Who does Kevin James play?" "...Trotsky."

This show is uneven but really hits when it is on point. I think last night's episode overall was a strong one that should help bring in new viewers.

I love this show. The post-Super Bowl episode wasn't the series' best (though it was solid) but I really hope new viewers start watching it.

Re: Brooklyn Nine-Nine
"The Party" was another great episode. In fact, it may have been my favorite of the series so far. I especially loved Gina fascinating all the psychologists just by being herself and Amy's continued obsession with impressing Holt ("Raymond, those slacks are a knockout!")

The more Chelsea Peretti in an episode, the better "You sound like Joy Behar falling down a flight of stairs!"
