Anybody else watch this? I think it was probably the best new show of the season. It was very gripping and terrifying because it seemed like it is so possible. Kiefer did a great job. I worried it would be Jack Bauer as President, but he played the role very different from Jack. Maggie Q's character is great too, along with Kal Penn. Overall a great first episode, have to see if maintains it throughout the season. |

I watched a little bit of it. It was jarring to see this political thriller starring Jack Bauer... As not Jack Bauer. |

I really like it so far, but it seems like something that will lose steam after a season or two. It's kind of funny watching Kiefer Sutherland in a role where so much chaos is going on, and he's not going Jack Bauer on anyone's ass. Especially when the army general that doesn't believe in him being President is the guy who took him to Russia in the Live Another Day finale. I think maybe my biggest issue with the show is it could easily be a silly sitcom. The whole pitch for the show sounds like a 2001 Rob Schneider movie. "He was just an ordinary Secretary of Housing and Urban Development, when he became the most powerful man in the world. Rob Schneider is... The Designated Survivor!" |
