Post subject:  Five Favorite Shows of All Time

I'm sure we've done this countless times in various formats, but I thought it would be fun to do another list of our favorite shows of all time.

The criteria:
1. Must be five. Not five plus 6 and 7. No honorable mentions. Just five.
2. No combining shows (Ex: Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul)

I'd prefer keeping it at shows that have ended, but I won't make that a rule since two of my five are technically still going. You can also rank them from 1-5 or just list five without a ranking.

My List
5. Seinfeld (1989-1998)
4. 24 (2001-2010 + 2014)
3. Frasier (1993-2004)
2. Breaking Bad (2008-2013)
1. The X-Files (1993-2002 + 2016)

Game of Thrones
Breaking Bad
The Wire
24
Firefly

1. The Simpsons
2. South Park
3. The Shield
4. Breaking Bad
5. 24

The Top 4 are solid. The fifth slot is very difficult with multiple contenders.

Same. I really found it difficult to narrow it down. I thought five was better than ten because it just forces you to really pin it down to a concise number without possibly filling it out with a few choices that are more likely to change depending on the day.

The key word here is "favorite" - like, I know "The O.C." is never going to be on any best of lists but in terms of shows that I have a strong connection to and watch over and over again there's no way in hell that wouldn't make the list for me. I've probably seen the pilot episode of that show 25+ times.

"Lost" and "Friday Night Lights" are my favorite (and in my opinion best) shows of all time though, easy.

1. Friends
2. Game of Thrones
3. Buffy
4. Breaking Bad
5. Grey´s Anatomy

Grey´s is on this based on the number of years I´ve watched it and the times Shonda has owned my soul with it.

Game of Thrones and Buffy are tied tho.

SpongeBob
The Big Bang Theory
Survivor

Forgot that one. I haven't seen a lot of shows, tbh. Besides Lost I've really only watched reality and kids shows until recently.

I need to do a "Buffy" rewatch at some point but that would probably be in my top ten.

"Grey's" I'm still watching and if it had stayed at the quality it was at in season 2 I'd have given it a spot. It has some INCREDIBLE episodes which is what keeps me on board - even as of late (that Meredith attack episode last season was maybe the best episode since the shooting episodes in season 6).

"Breaking Bad" has "Ozymandias" which will forever be cemented in my opinion as one of the greatest hours of television of all time. But I actually remember finding the first few seasons kind of slow which is why it didn't make the cut for me.

3. Mad Men
4. Boardwalk Empire
5. Game of Thrones

It was difficult to leave off some of the shows I left off the list.

It was a tossup between X-men or Batman, but I'm going X-Men: The Animated series.

This is so, so, so, so damn tough.

It's gotta be this for me though.

1. The O.C.
2. Dawson's Creek
3. The Wire
4. True Detective
5. Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman

Man, this is so impossible making this list. There's some many good episodes, and also some lesser ones here and there, then gotta package that in some kind of grade to compare with other shows.

And then there's the comedies, oh my, I wish to put some in there, but no idea which one to pick, although even the best one would always fall out of the top 4 anyway.

I also loved "Dawson's Creek" when I was younger but don't think it's aged well. I tried rewatching it recently and it was so cheesy and dated. I think "The O.C." has definitely managed to hold up well though.
