That's a pessimistic prediction. :(

I don't think so. I'm sure that Harry Potter will forever be my favorite book series and Order of the Phoenix will always be my favorite book.

You recently made a thread about starting university, so you must be about 20. You really don't believe that in your next six or seven decades of life that you won't read a better book? It may well turn out to be true, but I still say it's a very pessimistic prediction to make for your own future.

It's not really pessimism. That would be to expect a bad outcome. Having read the best book ever written (in your opinion) by the time you are 20, and that remaining your favourite book for the rest of your life, is hardly a bad outcome. But the expectation of that is rather bleak and cynical.

If you don't define pessimism as bleak and cynical expectations, how do you define it?

I already said. I define it by a negative outcome, which is why I already said that having read the best book ever by the time you are 20 is not a bad outcome. In fact, it's great. You can re-read the best book ever over and over again for years. But, it is cynical to not expect or even hope to find a better book. On the flipside, if you kept finding a better book every week, that is also not a bad outcome. Therefore it has nothing to do with pessimism. It is simply a cynical outlook to behold.

I wonder if I am cynical or pessimistic because I expect a bad outcome from every Algren post?

Chandlers weight fluctuates a lot. He was a little twig in season 3, and he's a little chubby in season 6.

Matthew Perry was in and out of rehab in seasons 6 and 7, that's why his weight fluctuates all the time.

Courtney Cox had a similar thing. Attractive in season 1 to horrible and annoying in season 10.

The following episodes are bullshit.

4.21 The One With the Invitation
6.20 The One With Mac and C.H.E.E.S.E
7.21 The One With the Vows
8.19 The One With Joey's Interview

Flashback episodes are fine in my eyes.

I tweeted about Monica and Chandler not being able to have kids, and a follower said SPOILERS! I don't think you can spoil something 13 years old.

Fuck the writers for that though. :tears: :tears: :tears:

Monica would've been in her late 30s by that time, even if she could have kids it would've been a risky pregnancy.

I think Monica was only supposed to be about 34 or 35 when the show ended (her character was always younger than Courteney Cox actually is; Courteney is five years older than Jennifer Aniston but Rachel/Monica are the same age).

The character is 34 in season 9 of Friends.

Rachel is 32.

I know girls in their 20s that have trouble having kids. It is not always related to age. Some bodies are just not made to incorporate baby-making.

Well,Rachel and Joey is a thing now. I know people dislike this, but it does seem to finally be something that will really make Ross realize he still loves her, since Gavin and the guy at the bar were not.

My god. I just finished Friends and I'm emotionally wrecked. Like losing a loved one.

Such a goddamn freaking wonderful show. :tears: :tears: :tears: :tears: :tears: :tears: :tears: :tears: :tears: :tears: :tears: :tears: :tears: :tears: :tears: :tears: :tears: :tears: :tears: :tears: :tears: :tears: :tears: :tears: :tears: :tears: :tears: :tears: :tears: :tears: :tears: :tears:

Oh, get a grip. :P

It is one of the best shows ever made, and holds a special place in my heart, but it's still just a show. You can re-watch it all over again. ;)

Yeah the beauty of classic sitcoms like friends, Seinfeld, Raymond etc is that you can look forward to doing a complete re-watch every so often.

Though good to see that zwackerm enjoyed it this much.

A few years ago I went through three years of completely rewatching Friends. It is a long show so it wasn't easy, but it is greatly rewatchable. I rewatch The Office every year too, but that's so much shorter (but no less funny). And I have already rewatched Curb Your Enthusiasm a few times since discovering it last year.
