New season started last night and, as usual, it was heartfelt and wonderful. The show does serious so well, walking the line but never crossing into melodrama. Ellen Burstyn was a great pick to play Janney's mother too, though it was equally fun imagining her mom played by a batty June Squibb. Looks like it's another year of the show being the most criminally underrated sitcom on TV. |

This has been an incredible season. Equally hilarious and heartbreaking. Jody's death was shocking and a huge gut punch. |
