How did I not see until now that Michael Chiklis is in this season?

THAT CLOWN. OMG. Scary as hell. Every time he showed up I got the chills.

Great opener. Already very intrigued and excited to see where the season goes.

HOLY SHIT! that was pretty awesome. Easily puts Gotham and The Strain to shame as the best premiere opener of the year for me. I fell off with this show two years ago, but I'm down for this season.

I was hooked from the creepy opening, but what really sold me was that demented fucking clown. Seriously, that shot of him of that ride will stay etched into my mind for a while.

The clown was very creepy and the scene by the lake was actually pretty scary.

That being said, I didn't care much for the episode. I thought it was actually a little dull and I didn't like Kathy Bates as Edna Turnblad with a beard. :P

Damn, that's why this is my favorite show. This was disturbing, scary and with an epic twist at the end.

Jessica Lange already gave an Emmy worthy monologue and Sarah Paulson did great too.

The show seems best when it goes retro. Its probably the reason why Asylum is my favorite one of all the seasons.

I enjoyed the premiere a lot. The characters and their world are highly intriguing, and the clown is obviously frightening and memorable.

Oh, one minor complaint: I had trouble understanding Jessica Lange's Marlene Dietrich-esque German accent at first, particularly when competing with blaring period pop songs.

It was good but I liked the premieres of the other AHS seasons more. Clearly the dynamic will change when characters like Chiklis, Bassett, Roberts, etc. get involved

Sarah Paulson's character is amazing and still near unmatched show for cinematography/direction/etc.

I thought the premiere was solid. Certainly well-made. Love the opening title sequence. The clown is over-hyped but definitely interesting. I can see why people find him scary but I don't particularly. Though if you find clowns scary you'll easily be terrified by this one. The scene by the lake was great.

The clown's first scene reminds me a lot of the waterside murder in Zodiac, a scene I have always found extremely disturbing.

Funny that John Carroll Lynch is playing the clown and he played the suspect in Zodiac

some of it is cringeworthy but the clown stuff really is freaking creepy. It's also shot really well.
