Nielsen just released these figures. They mean practically nothing (except in the cases of things like The Good Wife, where I think CBS has been renewing it over the years thanks largely to the upscale audience it brings them), but it's interesting nonetheless. "Richest" TV Shows (by median income) 1. "Modern Family" (ABC) - $81,100 2. "Parks and Recreation" (NBC) - $81,000 3. "The Amazing Race" (CBS) - $75,700 4. "Nashville" (ABC) - $74,400 5. "The Goldbergs" (ABC) - $73,900 6. "60 Minutes" (CBS) - $73,900 7. "The Mindy Project" (FOX) - $73,800 8. "The Good Wife" (CBS) - $72,900 9. "How I Met Your Mother" (CBS) - $72,900 10. "New Girl" (FOX) - $72,700 11. "The Michael J. Fox Show" (NBC) - $71,600 12. "Parenthood" (NBC) - $71,600 13. "Super Fun Night" (ABC) - $71,300 14. "Revenge" (ABC) - $71,200 15. "Trophy Wife" (ABC) - $71,200 16. "Shark Tank" (ABC) - $70,800 17. "The Middle" (ABC) - $70,700 18. "Grey's Anatomy" (ABC) - $70,500 19. "Castle" (ABC) - $70,400 20. "Glee" (FOX) - $70,000 "Poorest" TV Shows (by median income) 1. "Bob's Burgers" (FOX) - $48,800 2. "American Dad" (FOX) - $49,100 3. "Family Guy" (FOX) - $53,400 4. "48 Hours" (CBS) - $54,000 5. "The Simpsons" (FOX) - $54,100 6. "America's Funniest Home Videos" (ABC) - $54,700 7. "Ironside" (NBC) - $55,400 8. "Undercover Boss" (CBS) - $55,800 9. "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation" (CBS) - $56,300 10. "Once Upon a Time in Wonderland" (ABC) - $56,300 11. "Bones" (FOX) - $56,600 12. "Dracula" (NBC) - $57,000 13. "MasterChef Junior" (FOX) - $57,500 14. "Grimm" (NBC) - $57,800 15. "The X Factor Thursday" (FOX) - $57,800 16. "The X Factor Wednesday" (FOX) - $58,300 17. "Dads" (FOX) - $58,300 18. It kind of means nothing considering Modern Family is a family show so it would most likely have two income earners while American Dad is most likely watched by single males in their early to late 20s. Criminal Minds is watched by old people (in nursery homes probably) who are on social security |
