20 years ago tonight, The X-Files debuted on FOX. Can't believe it's been that long.

Other X-related milestones this year: 15 years since the first movie, 5 years since the second one.

It still remains my favorite show of all time, for all its highs and lows.

I remember watching it in late 93 and loving it. Had no idea that it would become such a hit.

They're talking about doing another bigger budget one. Rather than the small standalone story last time. THey've been talking to Simon Pegg about co starring as well.

I've read about that off and on (though not the Simon Pegg thing), but I think we're lucky we got a second film, which I thought would never have happened.

I'm kind of disappointed Chris Carter never tried to do a new version for television. With all the spinoffs on TV in the past few years, an X-Files spinoff (with new characters, of course) would be fun.

But he already did do spinoffs with Millenium and Lone Gunmen. Also, its way too early to restart X-files with a new cast. Maybe in another 10 years.

Millennium wasn't a spinoff. It did have resolution on The X-Files, but it didn't get spun off from The X-Files.

Lone Gunmen, yes, but I meant more of a CSI: Miami/NY type spinoff, in that it's a spinoff in name only, not of characters.

Actually, the only word that came to mind was "reboot", and I hate the word.
