"Let's go beyond the wall and catch a wight", was the single weakest idea they could ever have to do more good than harm. Yes indeed. I highly doubt this motive will be used in GRRM's books.

The finale title is "The Dragon and the Wolf" and will run for 79 minutes, the longest episode yet.

I assume that means Jon and Dany are getting it on, will they get married by the end of the ep? (Would be solid political move)

There are apparently people who believe there is going to be a vaguely 12 Monkeys-esque twist revealing Bran is the Night King.

Hmm...would that make sense? They have to exist at the same time? Hard to buy for me...but I'm geeked up by any theories.

The changing of actors is suspicious..

I for one hope a lot of the theories turn out to be false though. I hate prophecies and will always remember Dumbledore saying they're only real if someone alters their actions to avoid it. R+L = J was fine, but I'd rather not have Tyrion as a Targaryen and at this point in the story it makes little sense for Jaime to be the Valonquar.

They sure are giving Bran minimal screentime if that was the end of the show

I do like the theory that the Mad King went mad and into "burn them all" mode because Bran was trying to tell him about the White Walkers

Or maybe he was just being kind. D&D is pretty much botching this season and each episode feels very anticlimatic

Good finale. The Tyrion Cersei scene was great and The Night King riding the dragon and destroying the wall was bad ass. I actually thought for a moment Jaime was going to die too.

His death was great but it's a little silly Littlefinger lived all season when Bran knew he caused Ned, Robb and Cat's deaths, and frankly if they killed him in a random early episode like Joffrey's death it would've been a bigger surprise and better "moment" the show is known for.

My favorite scene was Jon and Theon. Got me kinda choked up. Littlefinger's "trial" was great too. RIP but that was the best possible way to go out. And also a great payoff to those uncomfortable Sansa v Arya scenes.

The finale was entertaining, but everything worked out too nicely, at least till the end with the dragon and the wall.

A pretty uneventful episode for a season finale IMHO. It just tied in everything that was hinted. Nothing remotely surprising happened.

My fave scene od the show in a while has to bethe Cersei/Tyrion scene. Masterclass fromboh of them.

Ofc Cersei gave NO FUCKS about the white walkers and played Tyrion like a fucking fool.

Not the best episode, but a very satisfying finale, setting things.up nicely for next season.

The only scenes that were really satisfying was Littlefinger's death and the end with the dragon and the wall (though that was easily predictable).

Even though the main plotlines for this season (Tyrion's war strategy, Starks feuding, catch a wight) made little sense, I still think the writing was pretty damn strong. All the asides with our favorites reuniting or meeting for the first time were excellent and I'm into that stuff as much as zombie dragons. All of the pieces are in the right place for the final showdown.

I don't think she's playing Tyrion, I think Tyrion is playing everyone Snape-style. As long as The Night King loses, he will live a comfortable life no matter which Queen he is serving.

16.5 million viewers for the finale and a total of 31 million viewers once all platforms are added in. GOT is now more popular than the Walking Dead even at its peak (when you consider the 31 million viewers) or that 16.5 million is more than the ratings TWD had last season

Except Snape wasn't like that. "Always." :tears:

I read a good comment that Littlefinger was the reverse Ned Stark. Ned died because he tried to use honor and integrity in the South, while Littlefinger tried to bring maneuvering and the game of thrones to the North but it doesn't work that way there

I liked the episode. Better written and paced than the previous one.

Its the little things that were cool - ie. snow falling at King's Landing, the Hound opening the box and waiting for the whight to pop out, etc.

If a Stark dies which one do you think it will be? I think one has to not make it. I'll say Bran

Hopefully Arya. No one gives a shit about Bran. And Sansa just can't die.

My guess though is the producers won't kill any fan favorites.
