I definitely agree that this show is overrated. It's good and has moments of greatness but is way too satisfied with itself. I think people go crazy over it mainly because of the binge-watching/all episodes available at once thing.

Oh and I finished the season last week. Stamper's death was surprising and the scenes between him and Rachel were intense and the best part of the finale. I was disappointed Jackie agreed to work with Frank/Claire as I was looking forward to seeing her take Claire down.

Every time a new season of this pops up, various outlets will run boring and largely unfounded variations on the same two articles: "OH MY GOD, HOUSE OF CARDS IS CHANGING THE LANDSCAPE OF POP CULTURE!" and another desperate to connect the series to the real Washington, D.C. The latter bolstered by Kevin Spacey saying, "Oh, it is not too far from the truth, I daresay!" on the red carpet as if he were a deep political insider.

Robin Wright actually delivers a much stronger performance on this series than Kevin Spacey does, in my opinion. Quite often Spacey is a bit too over-the-top for my taste.

Was running through these like an addict until season 2 started. Episode 16 ... yikes! I hope it turns it around quick. #Don'tkillyourbestcharacters. Not everybody can be Game of Thrones.

I am the last person on the bandwagon, but I started watching this a few days ago. I have a few episodes left in the second season. A riveting, extremely well-crafted drama, any number of absurdities be damned. I love it.

Frank's two speeches in episode 2 were a great reward for the people who stuck with the show through the very rough season 2. I also appreciate how much time has gone into Doug Stamper's babyface turn, setting him up as the perfect foil to Frank's master plan. Its almost like they listened to the audience instead of going for a headline grabbing shocking twist.

I've watched four episodes so far. The beer pong scene with Robin Wright and Jayne Atkinson was perfect :P

Top to bottom season 3 sucked.

It is a slower, softer season (boardroom conversations regarding the Jordan Valley simply cannot compare to the Underwood couple in full rising-to-power/I-will-let-your-child-wither-and-die-inside-you mode), but I still highly, highly enjoyed it, particularly the continuation of Stamper's arc, the tension with the Russian president*, and the focus on growing resentment between Francis and Claire.

*...with the exception of the not-great bit with the Pussy Riot music video playing over the end credits of one episode.

This season wasn't the best but the last two episodes were AMAZING. Maybe the best episodes of the show so far. That last scene with Claire was perfect.

Also, Michael Kelly was MVP this season for me. His descent into madness was the most riveting thing to watch and the last episode where he finally found Rachel was so intense. I was devastated when she died :(

Elizabeth Marvel was also great - love Heather Dunbar.

I enjoyed this season. I haven't disliked any season actually. I almost teared up a couple times this season and I thought Frank was his ultra scariest when talking to his Sec of State about him never forgetting. I enjoyed the VP's actions and play with Claire during his stint. Now as things crumble around them it looks like we're entering a Wag the Dog phase but how is he going to stay in power when the election is apparently just 4 weeks away? I can't imagine he'd be elected when he totally failed that terrorism bit.

I loved the first half of Season 4 specially when they were fighting among themselves. Frank's threat to get Claire the position was also REALLY NICELY done. Didn't like the ending as much but overall I loved this season more than Season 3.

I'm on the finale now. Really great season so far. Definitely better than season 3.

Yeah, please tell me it gets significantly better in Season 4. Season 3 is a chore to sit through. So much stupidity and boring plots...

I'm eight episodes into season 5 and finding this season to be a colossal bore.

A season of this without Spacey would be the worst show ever

Maybe I'm the only one who watched this but I loved it. I liked every bit of it up until it abruptly ended. That's really the only part I hated.
