The new season will have a "sneak peek" (the first hour of the premiere) on December 15th before starting formally in January.

Watching the premiere now. The pacing of this show is SO different with the move, Jesus Christ. It feels like a completely different show.

Interesting. How so? I doubt I'll watch the premiere until it actually airs next month.

It's much slower-paced instead of something happening every five seconds, there's almost no score anymore, and the characters actually have conversations instead of just shouting at each other. Plus, the musical numbers go on for longer.

I thought the show was supposed to get less soapy on CMT.

If Connie Britton really leaves, I'm out. Juliette's gospel adventures wouldn't be nearly enough to keep me going to deal with Scarlett's annoying ass and Maddie, the most obnoxious teenager ever portrayed on TV.

I'm curious if she will. She keeps saying she's not but the press believes otherwise.

This season has been boring. Why can't I free myself from this?

I love how over this show she is.

I haven't actually seen the episode yet but obviously Rayna dies because the crush of articles has been impossible to avoid spoiling myself from.

It just makes me wish the show had never been revived for CMT, because killing off the protagonist after all these years kind of seems like a slap in the face.

On the other hand, Connie is finally free and can go be in something way more interesting. And I'm free too because there's no way I'm gonna watch The Adventures of Maddie now.

It was a decent enough series finale

But yeah, I watched the promo for the next episode and it already looks horrible. Who will get custody of Maddie and Daphne? The long awaited return of Teddy!

Apparently Connie is in the next episode which goes along with the rumors she'd be leaving after 10 that surfaced months ago.

So...I watched the episode. I stand by my earlier thought. I wish this show had just ended when ABC canceled it. Rayna being dead feels...wrong, and like a lot of the show has been a waste of time.

On the other hand:

Connie Britton is an incredibly talented actress and has deserved better than the lukewarm Nashville writing for years.

Also, I just can't imagine myself continuing to watch the show.

Cory will never be able to free himself from this show because now Rachel Bilson has joined the cast.

I'm SO MAD I have to keep watching now. Goddammit.
