OK I know I'm literally 3 years behind but just finished season 2 of Breaking Bad. Wow.

Does anybody have any sci-fi shows to recommend. For comparison reference I loved Battlestar Galactica and Farscape and couldn't get into Babylon 5

That's terrible advice unless you are telling Shack to only watch season 3, which is reasonable since it stands alone.
Doctor Who, Shack!

I always thought Stargate had been running for like 20 seasons and just reloaded and so I didn't want to watch something that long, but 10 is a reasonable number. I do know they poached the Farscape leads after it ended I picked X Files though, I had forgotten it was on my list to catch up to. I might do 2 though, slow summer

Halfway through season 3 of Breaking Bad. I am officially an idiot for taking this long to watch it. Whoops.

Just on Thrones... read the books first!
Or maybe watch Ep 1 Season 1 only and then read the books.

Just watch GOT already instead of letting your dvd set sit in dusk for like 2 weeks now. Besides you can always go back and read the books afterwords. Better yet, get the audio books with Roy Dotrice narrating while doing other things

Or maybe watch Ep 1 Season 1 only and then read the books. Wouldn't that be like torture? Maybe but I think the first episode is not too spoilery and sets the scene well so you can watch that and then start on the book and read up to the end part of Episode 1 (a memorable scene) and then make a decision if you'll pursue book or show first. Roid is right in that reading the book 2nd may enhance the experience as it will fill in many gaps and backstory.
