Wow, considering NBC picked up a lot of great pilots, this schedule fucking SUCKS.

Chuck on Fridays? What was the point of renewing it them? It's going to get like 0.6 in the demo. Grimm sounds interesting, but I don't like that it's (most likely) going against Supernatural and that it's on Friday. But considering NBC's recent streak it might even get a full season if the ratings are somewhat bearable.

So on Monday they decided to battle DWTS with two singing competitions... That will be interesting to watch.

Tuesday remains unchanged. Comedy block on Wednesday! I like Christina Applegate, but I'm hoping The Middle smacks the shit out of Up All Night. :P

Hmmm, a comedy with such a generic title gets the post The Office slot? So a show named Whitney their best comedy show? And where's 30 Rock? It's a benchwarmer?

"30 Rock" being MIA is the biggest outrage, but I understand it is because of Tina's pregnancy. At least they kept "Parks" for the entire season. And that awful Whitney Cummings show should not get the post-"Office" slot over something like "Up All Night," which would have been a nice replacement for "30 Rock" with its pedigree.

"Parenthood" not being moved is outrageous and NBC is moronic for not realizing this. Maybe "The Good Wife" will move.

I expected "Chuck" to be on Fridays. It's the last season, and their Monday needed to be completely revitalized.

Almost all of the pilots I was really interested in from NBC are being held until midseason.

I expect that CBS will move TGW. Or keeping it for midseason to see where to schedule it. I'd be surprised if they decided to stick with their Tuesdays.

EDIT: I added new/returning shows not on schedule in the first post...

Official site is up! Although I think it's still in the works as it's showing Smash only on Monday, no The Sing-Off or The Voice or The Playboy Club (the show that's actually premiering on Monday in fall).

Based on the clips released, I give "Whitney" three episodes.

Of the fall shows, I will definitely watch Up All Night and Prime Suspect. I'll give The Playboy Club a shot if it gets good word.

I'm kind of disappointed we won't see Smash until midseason but premiering it after The Voice is smart.

I'm going to be pissed if Parenthood and The Good Wife are up against each other AGAIN.

I have a feeling Playboy and that ABC Pan Am show will end up as next season's Lone Star.

Really hoping for Christina Applegate and Will Arnett to make an awesome sitcom pairing!

Does this Celebrity Apprentice renewal mean Trump isn't running for President?

I'm guessing they hope Trump doesn't run, because we've seen how Martha Stewart fared with her edition of The Apprentice.

Ditto. I thought for sure Parenthood would move. CBS better move The Good Wife.

NBC ordered 6 new comedy series this upfront, more than any other network. But the orders for two of its 3 midseason half-hours, romantic comedy Bent and BFFs (form. Parham/St. Clair) are for 6 episodes each.

Actually a smart decision from NBC. They can test the show and order more if it works out. Considering their recent track record I don't blame them for playing it safe.

Awake's trailer was fantastic and I wish it would start in the fall.

Though I'm also worried it may fall down a Lone Star road and be cancelled early.

Thus far I've only watched the trailers for "Smash," "The Playboy Club" and "Up All Night."

"Smash" looks FANTASTIC and "The Playboy Club" actually looks really intriguing. "Up All Night" seems awesome and there's no way it won't be.

Post subject:  Re: NBC 2011/12

OK, I've watched all of the new series' trailers.

"The Playboy Club" looks much better than I was expecting. I don't think it's going to catch on, but it looks really intriguing and I want to watch it for sure.

"Smash" seems to be just as great as the buzz has indicated. It could definitely be a huge hit launching out of "The Voice" and it could prove a major threat to "Glee" since the pedigree here is undeniably better. It's interesting they are launching this as a star vehicle for Katherine McPhee with the "and introducing..." credit.

"Awake" looks fantastic and the script was amazing, so I'm excited. I'm not sure how long this one will last though - it seems very serialized.

"Prime Suspect" looks like a generic procedural, and actually feels so much like a "Law & Order" series that I'm shocked NBC didn't label it as such ;)

"Up All Night" looks hilarious and there's no way it won't be with that cast and creative team attached. I don't understand why they didn't add this one to the NBC Thursday lineup - seems like a much better fit.

"Free Agents" looks meh. I like the cast but doubt I'll watch this unless reviews are good.

"Whitney" just looks...ATROCIOUS. I really don't understand why NBC picked this up. It doesn't fit with their brand of comedy at all. I think this could be the first cancellation of the season. I can't believe how bad it looks.

"Are You There Vodka...It's Me Chelsea" looks bad, but better than "Whitney." The laugh-track shows just don't feel right on NBC anymore, I don't know what it is ;)

"Bent" looks completely forgettable. I may check it out though because I like Amanda Peet. Don't see it lasting though.

I guess Awake and Playboy Club seem decent enough. The rest look really really awful. Its no wonder that NBC is like in last place. Im not counting CW

NBC is giving post Superbowl spot to The Voice!

http://www.deadline.com/2011/05/nbcs-th ... bowl-slot/

Personally I think it's a WTF idea. They need a strong new drama or a comedy show. But I think if TV underwhelms this summer they might rethink this decision.

Post subject:  Re: NBC 2011/12

I completely expected that, to be honest. This is a good move in terms of taking away momentum from "Idol."

I do think they should have launched something like "Smash" or "Awake" in the slot - though I'm not surprised they didn't go for "Smash" after the "Glee" Super Bowl episode did slightly underwhelming numbers.

Eh. It's not going against Idol in any slot. It won't take anything from it.
