Now I was a big fan of the old BATTLESTAR GALACTICA from the 70's while growing up and at 1st, when I heard they were remaking this series, I was dead set against it, but after watching the Mini-Series last year, I have to admit the show is actually quite good, better than I gave it credit for.. The basic premise of the story is still there about a ragtag fleet onboard the BATTLESTAR GALACTICA fleeing from an enemy known as the Cylons after their home world of Caprica was destroyed and seeking out that Mystical and legendary planet known as Earth.. Back in the 70's, the Cylons were Chrome Robots with a red roving eye beaming back and forth on their heads, but in the re-imagined GALACTICA, The Cylons are more sleeker and come in the form of Humanoid and very sexy believe it or not, partly because one of the Cylon Models is called "Number 6" which stands for the Model # she is.. This new version also has a grittier, Minority Report type of feel going for it and also has alot of Sex in it to.. What I don't like however is that the character of Starbuck(Played back then by Dirk Benedict) is a woman now and not to sound sexist or anything which I'm sure that's the way it'll be taken, but Dirk Benedict pretty much owned this role and was the Ultimate Cigar smoking, Gambling Womanizer who can't be replaced.. Anyone else catch this Mini-Series last year?? |

I caught the mini on NBC last week. Apparently some stuff was cut out, but nothing too important to the story. I thought it was well done, and will be watching the series on CDN TV starting Saturday. I had thought of getting the episodes from the UK where they are up to Episode 11, but that's too much work. I had not seen the original series, so it's all new for me. |

I might flip over. Maybe. that is, after Star Trek. Star trek still owns ANYTHING put out by scifi (stargate was good before it moved there imo) We will see. MAAAYBE |

BUMP... Last nights Episode was one of the BEST I've seen yet from this series and this looks to be as good as what Star Trek: The Next Generation was to the Old Star Trek.. =D> Anyone catch it??? The Old character of Apollo from the Old Battlestar Galactica Guest Starred on it playing a Terrorist that sparred with the New Apollo over Politics and the Cylons.. Now all they have to do is get Dirk Benedict to come back and reprise his role of Starbuck playing a Father to the New Starbuck that's a woman now.. =D> |

Space is 1 week and 1 day behind SCIFI, so I get to see "Water" tonight and saw "33" last week. Which was excellent. Reminded me of "Cause and Effect" from TNG, but without the actual time anomoly. I do think this show has promise and the rating it generated for last weeks premiere was solid, 3.2 Million viewers I believe so more BSG is looking likely. |

I liked 33. Water wasn't as good. Last night was fine, but I wasn't really impressed. I think it's a tad over-rated, but I won't give up on it. Maybe in a few weeks I can get into it. I just don't care for Ronald D. Moore's egotistical boasting as of late (I am a die hard NXer and Enterprise fan...). Meh. We'll see. Not bad so far. Definately.... different. By the way, does ANYONE here watch Enterprise? The last episodes have been superb! (Minus Daedulus). Last night's was a standout hit, better than BSG. Next week is going to be promising, too. If anyone here gave up on it, I suggest they give it a second chance. Season 4 has been some of the best Trek since TNG and DS9... But, anyway. I shall keep watching BSG, hoping for the better..... |

I thought "Water" was even better than "33", the whole mood of the show was very well done. I'm a bit confused with all the Cylon Boomer action, but that just makes me think and I like when a show does that. I'm glad the cutaways to the scientist's mind were at a minimum - that's the ONE part of BSG that I'm not in love with. As for Enterprise....while "Observer Effect" was definitely better than "Daedleus" I wouldn't put any of S4 episodes against either of BSG's. I did like the Vulcan civil war angle and thought that was intersting but the Supermen arc with Spiner just didn't live up to it's billing. If they managed to focus more on Tucker & T'Pol and Hoshi I could see it getting better. That's why I liked a lot of last nights episode, is was only until Archer managed to somehow convince the aliens that were worth saving that it lost me. Enterprise S4 is the best trek since Enterprise S1 |

Actually, I think she said in they implanted a chip in his head so only he could se her and no one else which is brilliant.. This Baltar is just as good as the Old Baltar from the Old Battlestar Galactica which was played by the late John Colico's.. =D> |

Ya, Agent X, I pretty much agree with you about Enterprise. BSG is fresh and interesting, but I still don't know if it's my thing... |

The New Series while I do think it is very good, is also a tad too serious at times.. The Episode with Richard Hatch was good and tonights Episode with Starbuck Thrace dealing with the death of her Fiance, (Adama's Kid Zac), was good and moving.. |

It certianly had positives, ya, but it felt too stale to me. The direction is a little irrating. I liked it at first, but now it's getting a little unerving. I think that is whats really pulling my level of enjoyment down. I like all the characters, plots, etc. I'm gonna keep on watching anyway. |

I rented the TV-mini-series pilot of the new Battlestar Galactica here on DVD and I have to say that I was pleased. I have no clue when/if the series starts to air over here. |

Just saw "Bastille Day" (1x03) on Space tonight, and man is this show good. This has got to be my favourite episode of the short season. With the introduction of the warhead angle I can honestly say I'm interested in what Baltar is doing, when in the past I could not. So that makes all the story lines interesting. Starbuck is starting to grate however. I loved the stuff, even though it was far too brief, on Caprica which has stood remarkably well considering all the nuclear bombs. I just love Grace Park and her Cylon goodness. Apollo and President Roslin are making great strides in their efforts to lay claim to the title of 'Favourite Character'. I love their interaction with one another and do hope it continues in future episodes. Glad she confided to Apollo regarding her health, it just further develops their friendship. Still though, whether it's a via a helicopter crash in ID4 or Cancer in BSG, Prez Roslin can't catch a break. |

BUMP for tonights fantastic episode of BATTLESTAR GALACTICA that involved the conclusion of a two-part episode from last week with LT. Kara Thrace(Starbuck) coming to terms with her fiancee Zak's death and revealing to Adama that it was her that was responsible for Zak's death causing some strain between her and the Comander.. At that poiont, she takes a group of student pilots out for a recon patrol when they encounter the Cylons.. She sends the students back to the Fleet to warn them while she turns around and takes on all 8 Cylon Raiders by herself and in the process, her ship gets damaged along with another Cylon Raiser and they crash into a planet that resembles a Sun.. In the meantime, Part 2 stars this week with the continuation of the GALACTICA to send all squads out to find Starbuck with very little fuel and damages to the ships parts from the planet's harsh atmosphere... In the meantime, Giaus Baltar is having a brief conversation with the President(Rosalyn) and the Sexy Blonde Chick Cylon that Baltar keeps seeing, but no one else does, appears before him giving him specific instructions on what she wants from the Humans, all while giving him a foot massage and flirting with enough to make me fucking jealous of him.. ![]() Overall, I enjoy this show pretty much and if there was 1 thing I could suggest to the creators of the show, is put more humor in it and not be so serious all the time.. Right now, every episode I've seen of this remake, has had about as much humor as a funeral... At least with the old BATTLESTAR GALACTICA from the 70's, it had it's lighthearted moments that while cheesy, it was still somewhat humorous for it's time.. =D> |

This show has had me board to tears for two weeks running. And I wasn't impressed heavily before. Sorry, but I can't watch this show. It's horrible! I'll take Andromeda over this one, thanks. I fell asleep in it, again. I'm really disappointed. |

I just saw Scattered. What a great episode. Group seperated, great sound track and complete chaos. Even more importantly, a great set up for next week. This has got to be the best show on TV right now, geeks and non geeks alike. |

This has got to be the best show on TV right now, geeks and non geeks alike. =D> It is damn good isn't it Baba??? I mean originally, I was hell bent against this new series mainly because of the updated direction Ronald Mooore was taking with this, even though he basically stuck with the basic premise of this new series that he did with the old series that lasted for 1 season.. I also couldn't accept any other actor in the role of "Starbuck" and felt that Dirk Benedict owned this role being the sort of wise cracking, cigar smoking, womanizer in the mold of Han Solo from SW, but Lt.Kara Thrace(which is what I refer to her as more than Starbuck) feels like a combination of Dirk Benedict and her own take on the character.. What can I say?? I was wrong about Moore pulling this off and this opening epsidoe of this 2nd season kicked all sorts of ass.. Hell, I thought it was so good, I was sorry when the episode ended and now we have to wait another week to see it again.. This is definitely worth owning on DVD Box Set when it comes out and who can argue with the concept of nude "Boomers" ala Grace Park?? ![]() ![]() |

Sci-Fi shows like Frank Herbert's Dune and Children of Dune weren't that much tame. Butt shots and tits were everywhere... |
