I know, me too. I think there might be a misconception I take everything very seriously on here, most of my arguments are usually full of sarcasm, but it often times get lost too easily in written form.

I do think the overall funny has been better this season than last, but the arch has been rather lazy so far.

I literally just started crying at the end of this episode. lol whaaaaa.

That monologue was like the best Ted scene/moment in 180 episodes of this series. Well done, Josh Radnor. The seriousness of the ending made me preemptively scared that all 8 seasons of this show have been Ted telling the story of The Mother because she just died when the story is being told. Not sure if they'd go that dark, though.

Also, the tag of the Future/Present Teds and Barneys harmonizing on The Longest Time was great. This show makes me very happy sometimes. Even minutes after it made me cry.

Such a bizarre episode. An interesting idea, but way out of left field and not funny enough. Ted being depressed most of the season is just starting to get a little repetitive. But his acting at the end was great if a little unconventional. Marshall vs. Robin was enjoyable though.

Yeah Ted's monologue was one of the show's best moments.

The final scene made me tear up. It's maybe one of my favorite moments of the series, up there with the Stella 2-minute date.

In addition to implying something akin to what Libs mentioned, the final scene was just very melancholic in its discussion of longing for the past, etc. It was kind of heartbreaking.

Loved "The Bro Mitzvah." It had so many wacky elements (Ralph Macchio! The Quinn reappearance!) and they all came together beautifully. And this episode also showed that Robin is totally well matched with Barney.

And they totally got me with the clown reveal. lol

An episode that didn't really move the plot forward but bridged the gap satisfyingly. Well done.

Last night's episode had a classic HIMYM feel to it with how the story made its twist and turns. Definitely an enjoyable episode.

Last night's episode was sweet and the ending still confirms how strong Robin has become since the show's beginning. I was worried though at the end we were going to run into another Ted/Robin kiss.

Me too. I get why they keep going back to the Ted/Robin well but I'm always antsy that they're going to keep dangling that thread endlessly.

I'm really curious both about the finale and how season 9 is going to pan out, structurally.

It would seem kind of out of nowhere to see the mother next week. Plus is the wedding actually going to happen next week or are they going to save that for the season premiere?

I don't know how they can squeeze another season out of this.

It should end this season with Robin being the mother. That's always been the logical endpoint. The show has been dragging its feet all season, some of these unsubtle monologues are just painful and the characters bounce around from one feeling to the next. It's dangerously close to Entourage levels, another show I couldn't quit.

How is Robin being the mother the logical endpoint? Since the first episode it clearly states she isn't the mother.

This season has been so inconsistent. First half was unwatchable, then about 5 or 6 episodes in a row that were vintage, and now after a solid episode last week, that actually moved things along, they had to yet another "stalling" episode. It should have been an hour long finale with the wedding this week. Now that it's looking like the wedding won't be last week, they've postponed it yet again. Fucking stupid.

Robin was never Rachel Bilson's roommate, never had the yellow umbrella, and did not see Ted's first day of class. Also Robin can't have children- Lawyered!

Anything else would mean that Ted has lied to the audience and to the children all of these years, and that would be a major slap in the face. Barney and Robin have always been better. The biggest problem this year is we have an episode like last week when they are utterly crazy for each other, then they pull an episode like that one this week to drag it out. Barney left Nora and Quinn because he loves Robin. Barney deserves to be happy even more so than Ted now.

That's exactly why it's perfect! And Barney should not be getting married. This is going to fall apart, just you wait.

Unless CBS is pulling a fast one on audiences with the latest promos, we will be meeting the mother Monday.

But seriously, if you were not a fan of that last minute, then fuck you you are not a HIMYM fan at all.

Now I'm desperate to figure out who this actress is. I didn't recognize her at all.
