 Re: Pushing Daisies (Season 1)
Ok, Pushing Daisies tied with Private Practice and CSI:NY for second behind Criminal Minds in the household rating according to the fast nationals.
I'm guess it got about 13mil. Much better than I was expecting.

Great pilot for Pushing Daisies. I loved it! Can't wait for next week.
The actual number for the premiere was better at 13.032 million viewers.

Yeah, that's a bit dark. Unless you don't mean that he keeps her body and goes the whole necrophilia route. Because that's what I'm picturing now.

I am very interested in seeing how this show develops. It has a great start now, but it has room for A LOT more.
The only bad thing is that I feel that I probably already know how this series will end maybe: Ned kissing Charolette, killing her but finally being able to touch her.
Though maybe they won't go that route. Yup, because there's no way the show would dare introduce a character/event/MacGuffin to change the rules somehow and have them live happy ever after, and get past first base. The producers would never be clever enough to come up with something like that!

 Re: Pushing Daisies (Season 1)
My biggest fear is that the writers will feel forced (maybe by ABC) to change the rules and have Ned be able to kiss Chuck by the end of Season 1 or something.
It reminds me of CSI. During Season 2, Grissom had some ear problem that will make him deaf within a few years (three, I think), and the writers said there was absolutely no cure and that Grissom would go deaf. Then the end of next season, Grissom had some procedure done that cured his ear problem. I hope this doesn't go the same way.

Considering this is Bryan Fuller we're talking about, it wouldn't surprise me. Remember when the post it notes went from first and last initial to first initial and last name?

I'm not expecting it to do great ratings, but doing 9-11 Million (oh crap, I did not put 9-11 on purpose ) each week would be good for a show like this. I would be so disappointed if it doesn't last. It reminded me of WONDERFALLS, BIG FISH, and DEAD LIKE ME. That's because it's from Bryan Fuller, creator of Wonderfalls and Dead Like Me. That would explain it ;). I didn't even know that. It also reminded me of AMELIE.

And I don't know if I would like that either considring the rules are so perfect as they are now. It worked perfectly for the pilot sure, but you don't think they'll get stale after a few seasons? C'mon, you've got to be a fucking sheep the studios love if you think these rules will last unchanged until the show ends.

 Re: Pushing Daisies (Season 1)
Possibly do one or two seasons... then bring the show back as a TV movie or miniseries thing (kind of like the Prime Suspect series).

Very nice pilot. It's the only new show I have watched, and I dunno if I will watch any others.

 Re: Pushing Daisies (Season 1)
Episode 2 aired tonight on CTV. I would be lying if I said it was as good as the awesome pilot, but it was still very, very good. I'm still worried that Ned and Chuck are a little too close, even when they're just walking together. But I guess I'm worried in a good way. Like an "I'm so invested in these characters that I forget that they're only characters on TV and not real people affected by life-alterring circumstances like death by mere touch" good way.
But... yeah. It's my favorite new show of the season. I hope others who liked the pilot will agree that it's a good second episode.

 Re: Pushing Daisies (Season 1)
Heres my idea for the ending, Ned somehow through a mcguffin also becomes living dead, he and Chuck ride off into the sunset together as equals and now able to touch. Maybe hes dieing and is able to pass his power onto someone else, who then revives him.
Or heres an idea, fast forward 50 years, Ned is dieing on his bed, Chuck is the same girl, just as hes about to die she kisses him and die together.
Moviedudes probably right though, theyll find an idea to get past the gimmick.

 Re: Pushing Daisies (Season 1)
I'm probably the only one, but does anyone else get...nervous...that Ned is going to trip and fall onto Chuck or something? I mean, clearly, that would never happen, but...
They're always standing so close to each other, it kind of freaks me out.

They're always standing so close to each other, it kind of freaks me out. Exactly! I said that a few posts up. I get really, really nervous. And I think that's a good thing, that I forget they're TV characters and the whole thing is scripted and... yeah.

Second episode lived up to the first. It's just so damn pretty. And, my god! Olive sang! So many shots that were just so unnecessary but so perfect anyway.

Was the show an hour? It's only 30 minutes on NBC.com.
