More Season 5 info from ryansreport

Two years will have passed between Seasons 4 and 5. And get this: Doofus Veep Logan will be the official president when the show returns. For some inexplicable reason, producers love that little nimrod. Meanwhile, I think it's safe to assume Keeler died on the operating table.
Source - TvGuide

It's kinda murky at this point, but I have it on good authority that Tochelle will have made good on their promise to quit CTU and pursue life as a boring married couple. "They're gone; they're out," says a source close to the show. "It's a real happy ending." But that's not to say Jack won't pull them back in when the going gets deadly.

I don't mind seeing Logan back on the show. I didn't hate him, but I won't want to see the same bumbling president again. I hope to see Novick back, though. Something about those two make for good subplots. Don't ask why.

And, isn't it a little early to say "Tochelle" (okay TvGuide, not EVERY couple name can be combined) won't be back? It seems the writers are 50/50 on their promises of people not coming back. We were supposed to have a clean slate of characters, with no one returning this year, but lo and behold, Tony and Michelle were supporting characters for a large part of the season, and Palmer also came back for a brief 5-episode stay. But, they also didn't bring back Chase or Kim this year at all.

Same as Season 3: Kate Warner and Sherry Palmer were not supposed to come back for starring roles, but would make guest appearances: Sherry ended up back for a large part of the season, while Kate got one measly call in to Jack in the first episode, for about a minute and a half.

Can you imagine that call from Zack Bauer to Tochelle, I seriously doubt those two want to be pulled back into things.

Movie news

http://www.darkhorizons.com/news05/050617i.php

A movie based on the Fox series 24 is in the works according to The Calgary Sun. Whether it will be shot in real-time though is still up for consideration, says the show's Canadian director/producer Jon Cassar.

"The last I heard, the first hour will not be in real-time, but then something big will happen and real time will kick in. It still has to be worked out -- it's at a stage where they need to write it" said Cassar

He will not predict a storyline for the big screen version of the hugely popular show. He says the script will likely depend on what's happening on the series prior to the movie coming out. "It could still be two years from now, so it's far too early to say," he says, adding even if he did know, he wouldn't give it away.

I guess it won't be called "24" then.

Hehe... Kate Warner actually got cut out on the 2nd airing of the premiere, because of the commercials. That's sad.

So... the 24 movie would be... "2 hours?" "120 Minutes?" Hmmm... :-k

I think what really saved this season was a lack of any boring, out-of-place subplots. The most prominent subplot was the Araz family, and that was executed perfectly. There was no amnesia storyline, no mountain lion, no boring kid smuggling drugs from Mexico, no meathead named Chase getting in the way and causing a ruckus (I'm actually glad he didn't come back), and most importantly, the presidential storyline was not prominent until the last few episodes, and it wasn't boring either. I found all the stuff with the president in Season 3 was boring as hell. Palmer is great, but it just seemed so repetitive. "Someone's working against me. Must call Sherry." "No David, that's a bad idea. I don't like this idea." Palmer is always great, but I think Logan will make for a interesting character next season.

According to (the site formerly known as) Ryan's Report, one of the new characters is named Craig Huxley, a teenager who is the son of a lady Jack's dating.... somewhere in Bakersfield.

Hmmm.... Bakersfield, possibly annoying and maybe good-looking teen.... bring on the cougars and traps!!!

And James Morrison (Buchanan) will now be a series regular. That makes sense. He'll be the one to always comment on Chloe's demeanor. Hehe.

Another lady for Jack? Doesn't he know he has horrible luck with women? Nina was the mole in CTU, Teri was killed by Nina, Kate was some fling I suppose that didn't work out, and he has to pretend to be dead to Audrey Raines. Christ, Jack... get the hint.

HOLY SHIT

http://www.24spoilers.tvheaven.com/

The Chinese Government has learned that Jack is still alive and they know his suspicious death was an elaborate hoax. (It's looking more and more like the season five prequel [DVD] will deal with how the Chinese learn of Jack's resurrection.) U.S. intelligence assets have covertly confirmed the Chinese claims and an international incident is imminent. In order to suppress the diplomatic damage, elements within the U.S. Government begin to set a plan in motion that will contain the situation.

The plan calls for the immediate assassinations of every single person who knows that Jack Bauer is still alive as well as the assassination of Jack.

So, does that mean we're guaranteed Jack, Tony, Michelle, Chloe, Palmer and Mike Novick this season? I know Jack is a definite, Chloe is already signed, and it's highly likely that this storyline will include Tony and Michelle. But, what about Palmer and Mike? Mike is likely to be a part of the presidential storyline, but will he be punished? After all, he did tell Palmer about what was planned, but I don't recall if he knew about Jack's fake death.

Wait... it's "24"... EVERYONE comes back, even if only for a guest appearance. I wonder if we'll see any of Kim and Chase this year.

Hmm... so maybe Palmer will be the one to kick the bucket in the premiere? Supposedly a building explodes with an important person?

Yikes. Assassinating key characters! I'd love to see Chloe run for her life again and start shooting stuff.

Looks like we can expect Tony Almeida back next season, in either a starring or recurring role.

The season does open with a car bombing. Maybe that's his cameo.

5 out of 6 WOKJ TV Awards, inc. Best Drama!!!!!

I actually thought 24 wouldn't get as much awards given that this thread has about three regular posters... (me, Loyal, and Joey... teehee).

w00t... it seems like they got a hold of a possible storyline for either the premiere or DVD prequel. And Chloe has a prominent role!

I hope they stick to this...

WOAH WOAH WOAH

http://www.24spoilers.tvheaven.com

Jean Smart (Frasier, Garden State), Connie Britton, and Brady Corbett (Thunderbirds?) all join the cast! Jean Smart plays Prez Logan's wife. Can you say villain??? If she does amazing, 24 may finally have another character aside from Jack nominated for an Emmy.

They also plan to kill-off two regulars that know Jack is alive. Also in limbo are those close to him, like Audrey, Heller, Kim...

Wow! Incredible! Season 5 sounds incredible. I hate to say it, but if this season pulls off being even better than Season 4, there may not be much else this series will be able to accomplish. As much as it pains me to say it, Season 5 might have to be the final season. I don't want 24 to die a slow, painful, 9th season death like most successful shows (The X-Files).

Season 5 should lead into the feature film franchise.

This casting news is outstanding BTW.
