I'm not liking that they're building up Rick to be evil, since evil presences on the show tend to expire. He might be one of my favorite antiheroes ever.

Re: The Walking Dead (Season 6)
They're obviously not talking about Rick though, they're just using his B roll to add suspense.
Yeah, it was good. I wish the show would take the opportunity to explore different storytelling techniques besides in season premieres (the black and white catch-up scenes mixed with colorized present day). But still very good.

Re: The Walking Dead (Season 6)
I kinda thought it was a snoozer. Next week looks good though.
I enjoyed the opening. I was a bit confused by the b/w vs color sequences and didn't get what it was until later in the episode [my bad]. I was actually getting tired of the b/w till I realized it was showing the recent past vs the present.
Overall, I thought the episode was good but I didn't get why they were leading this big herd in the first place. Couldn't there have been a better way? Maybe like killing them all one by one. Yeah, it would take probably a whole day and be very risky especially for the noobs not familiar with killing zombies but with what appears to have happened now seems like a worse alternative.

Were there any ads for movies during the premiere? Just curious what.

Re: The Walking Dead (Season 6)
My reaction to the season premiere is a bit mixed. It is very, very well-produced in regard to composition, scope, etc. and fairly heavy on incident and confrontation, yet I found it oddly uninvolving.

Holy fuck this is crazy. And started with probably the best anti smoking message ever!
I don't understand it. That guy has gone crazy in a different sense. You can't rehabilitate these wolf freaks. What's the point in capturing them? Seriously. It's like he's forgotten the reality he's living in.

Re: The Walking Dead (Season 6)
I love how the tide has changed to "if Carol dies, we riot". She is without a doubt the best character on the show. It's such an amazing transformation from season 1. I want her on screen all the time.
Without any idea of what was going to happen, I thought the pre-title sequence was one of the best ever. I just love whenever the show gives an extended sequence with very little dialogue. And the random JSS throughout.
And once the show starts, I figured we were in for some downtime with a few lesser characters mixed with Carol, Maggie, etc. But holy shit. Absolute insanity throughout. Definitely one of the top episodes ever. And Kevin Smith pointed out a fun point that I kind of forgot about on Talking Dead that the present cast in the cast was made up of largely less-than-powerful characters. No Rick, no Daryl, no Michonne. But Carol and Morgan (and a few others) picked up the slack.

Re: The Walking Dead (Season 6)
Great, exciting, insane episode. Maybe my third favorite ever after "Days Gone Bye" and "Live Bait."

I can't help but think we're going to see a MAJOR kill-off this season as well. We saw some notable characters bite it last year, but we have so many strong, alpha characters (Rick, Daryl, Abraham, Carol, Michonne, Morgan) that I think it's time we lose one. And I would hate to pick one.
Well I feel like one of them will definitely die, but... I find Maggie a bigger part of the show than Glenn. Mainly due to the hotness. Actually, probably solely because of it.
I've never been a huge fan of Glenn. People may think his character has grown since the first season, but it feels more to me like the writers just forgot who he is along the way and wrote him differently all of a sudden.
Fuck you you trashy loser Nicholas. God damn. God damn. God damn. God damn how many motherfuckers did that asshole get killed .
Fing Nicholas. I'm sick. This stupid town with their stupid people.
