Post Star Wars: the Force Awakens DVD sales
If anything is going to sell a lot of DVD's again, it will be Star Wars. It will benefit from it's family appeal and the fact many will want to complete their saga DVD sets, even if they don't watch their DVDs anymore.

I think it can sell north of 10 million units easily, and it could go even higher. It's by far the most attended film since Titanic, and it had great WOM to boot. We should have another Frozen here.

2 versions hey :nerd:

I'm only getting the target version. We all know there will be another version coming out that'll have audio commentaries and even more behind the scene features.

why they didn't include audio commentary in this one is beyond me. :disgust: greedy as fuck

Picked up the regular version, which actually looks quite nice. The Walmart exclusive slip with BB-8 is kinda fugly lol. The Target edition looked cool but I don't like how the discs were in sleeves. And $28 plus tax for the steelbook at Best Buy? nah.

Got mine today. There were a surprisingly large amount of Target exclusives.

This is also the first Blu-ray I've bought knowing full well that there is another (bigger) version of the same movie coming out later in the year that I'll also buy. When was the last time a similar situation happened, the original LOTR DVD's that were followed up by the EE versions?

Were the extended editions after the whole trilogy was released? I don't remember. I remember owning the regular versions on dvd individually but I also had the EE's at some point as well which was why I sold those. I just don't remember if when that first disc came out if it was already known that there would be those EE's down the road.

The previous movie was released on EE for the next's theatrical release, if I'm not mistaken.
