Extras and bonus features added in some blurays are worth their price

I'm surprised how fast they're rolling out 4K, it seems to be going much quicker than HD - - by the end of 2015, Blu-Rays will just be starting to clog the dumps.

Yes You Are Not Alone (1978) looks and sounds great on Blu Ray!

I think I skipped the whole Blu-Ray era, never owned a player or any discs, and now everything seems digital.

Yes, modern people don't own hundreds of cases and discs. Only old-timers do.

Me too. I have two Blu-Ray discs. Wall-E which was a birthday gift and some random romantic comedy (might star Julia Roberts, not really sure) that I won on some lame competition. I currently don't even have any way to play them as I never had Blu-Ray player. My old laptop had one, but it broke.

Though I'm more old-school. I really like to own a physical copy of a movie I love. Feels like a more personal thing.

My love of owning the film disappeared when VHS was replaced.

I miss repairing my VHS player when it would eat the goddamn tape. I was 7 but I knew how to open up that motherfucker with a screwdriver, take out the reading part, take out the tape and put it back together.

But I liked the DVD era too with extras (director commentaries, deleted scenes, behind the scenes)...

I owned a fair few DVDs too, but the love was gone. They had no character. Older movies were released with redesigned artwork and it just ruined it for me. Not to mention the expense of replacing my videos. When I sold all my DVDs, I couldn't have cared much. But when I sold all of my videos, such heartache.
