Welcome everyone to WoKJ's Beta! We're excited, and I hope you are too. We've spent a long time re-creating this site, and while it's far from perfect or finished, we're happy with the overall direction and hope that with your help we can make this place better than it's ever been. How do I get to the new site? http://www.worldofkj.com/ Can I give the link to anyone else? Sure! The site's public. What do you want me to do? 1) The first time you visit the site, click around for 2 to 4 minutes. Then come back here and post in the first impressions thread. 2) Now that #1 is done, browse the site at your leisure and eventually enter content, both articles and babbles. 3) Keep an eye out for bugs, problems and issues. What kind of feedback do you want? 1) We want your first impression of the site. 2) We want to know anytime you encounter a bug ... aka when something doesn't work as you would expect or you get an error. Each time this happens, please let us know in this forum. 3) We want to know what aspects you think work well and what you think doesn't work so well. In the same vein, we're interested in suggestions for features / improvements. What would you like to see? What will you do with our feedback? Once the Beta is over, the development team will meet to go over the results. We'll also go over all your feedback and decide what direction future development should take, what features should be implemented next, what changes are needed ... generally what should we spend our time on now. What happens to the content I post when this is over? Anything you write, stays, unless you delete it. Why is this a beta and not just a site under development? We are currently in a beta state because the site has missing parts. It's finished enough that we feel comfortable opening it up to users, but we're not quite finished with development. You'll notice some links do nothing, that's because they haven't been developed yet. During the beta we will slowly be ironing out the kinks and developing the pages we need to make the site complete. Once that's done, we'll be out of beta! Development doesn't stop however, once the beta is over. At that point we'll look to create new functionality and design improvements to the site. |
