Post Assassin's Creed: Black Flag
So I finished Witcher 3 and I've played Skyrim and Fallout and Dragon's Age to death, so I bought Black Flag, especially since I like pirate games.

So far, I'm frustrated because it doesn't seem to matter what I do. If I fail a quest, the game just starts over and lets me try again. No consequences for failure, no option to not do the quest, no choices.

And then one time I had the quest to hide from the guards so I ran across the rooftops and jumped into a hay cart and stayed there for a long time but the quest didn't end because I DIDN'T JUMP INTO THE CORRECT HAY CART. Give me a break.

Others have told me that the game gets better, and I'm still in the "training" stages so I should continue on, but I like games where I'm not just acting out an already decided story.

Black Flag rule #1: Forget the story, be a Pirate.

I guess I'm just being impatient then. I haven't gotten that far into the game. It gets better?

Yes and No. Your complaints are valid, I dreaded every story mission they made me do. But the world is very fun once it opens up and the ship v ship battles are a blast. This was back in 2013 though, maybe it hasn't aged well.

Well, it was on sale for $10 so I guess I can't complain too much. Now I just have to find the time to play some more.
