My HDD crashed early this year so I lost my saves.

Though I already replayed the first one.......should also finish the second one again before part three arrives.

I can run WITCHER 2 maxed at 1440p (save for ubersampling, which I don't really need at this resolution) and get around 50fps.

Basically WITCHER 3 is gonna make my graphics card cry.

No surprise, but the reviews are great so far. It has currently matched Bloodborne's 92 on meta.

Fucking DRM. I was able to get a copy from a store in Long Beach but could not play it since it requires a patch that won't go online till the 19th

So anyone get the chance to try the game? I only got to put in 2 hours into it. Not enough time to give my impression.

I haven't become as immediately taken with the game as I was with Bloodborne and Inquisition. It has a slow start and the side quests seem to be mostly pointless, in terms of gaining XP at least, which bugs as I'm the type of guy who likes to complete everything he can.

However, I've had two monster hunts so far and they are fantastic. A witcher doing witcher's work is all I ever really wanted from this game, so everything else is just a bonus.

I love Yennifer! Can't wait to see what happens when she meets Triss!

The game gets a lot better once you open up the second area.

so i never played Witcher 1/2...is it that significant to play those to play this? Or can I just spend a few hours reading some wikis beforehand?

You'll be fine. The overarching story doesn't make a ton of sense anyways. You get all the info you need in the opening dream/tutorial sequence. The only benefit is the "hey it's that guy/girl!" reaction every now and then.

It should not be a problem with wiki and youtube. I completely forgotten who some of the characters were since some of the guests date all the way back to the first game that came out in 2008. So far what differentiates this game from other fantasy role playing games is that it has deeper political connection and faction base.

The game is freaking long so far and I'm still level 15 when there are quests that I can't accept since they are made for level 33 in the logs. I think I have put in close to 40 hours into it so far

My first runthrough took 48 hours. Jesus, this game is huge.

I also love the ending I got. It's apparently the hardest of them to qualify for, and it's wonderfully bittersweet.

Probably due to playing on Xbox 1, but I really hate the inventory system. The words in it are too damn small.

Only 48 hours? Did you do everything because I'm 50 hours into it and just level 20?

I agree about the inventory especially when it comes to alchemy, its so hard to track

This is a great fantasy novel. Unfortunately it's not a great game. There's so much to do yet so little I want to do. So I'll just stick with the story until the end. I give it A B/B- depending on how exciting the ending is.

Yennifer > Triss. Though I also completed the Keira quest line .

Yennifer is hotter but a total bitch so I would choose Triss. However viking Cerys is better than both in terms of hotness and personality but too bad she isn't a romance option

I bought this at Christmas for myself and really am enjoying it. It's a huge world like Skyrim but a more structured story like Dragon Age. It's not as sexist as the previous editions, and there are a few cute inside jokes I've caught that have been fun, too.
