Post Civ 6!!
October 21st, only on PC at first though. Cannot wait. Easily jumps to the top of my most anticipated game list. Civ 5 is the only one I've played, but it was addicting and became one of my all time favorites. Just one more turn..

I need to get a new computer. I've been missing out on a lot of PC games over the past few years.

Civ 2 was one of the best games I've ever ever played but the other incarnations since have just been so bleh and over animated. Yuk

Not a fan of the cartoonier style, but Teddy being the representative for America is inspired. Finally someone gets it right.

There are several annoying bugs and the AI is possibly more stupid than it's ever been, but it's still a great game despite its issues. I'm really digging the district thing in this game, requiring more thought to be put into city planning than before, where you could just slap everything into a city.

I finally got a PC good enough to play this. While it will be near impossible to top Civ 5, I’m loving it so far. I lost my first game with Sumeria to a Kongo culture victory of all things. You could never get those in Civ 5 lol. Trying to win through domination with Australia now, mostly because I thought it’d be funny.

DIB, I know you used to want to play online. I would be down for it now that I actually can lol. Still not sure how it would work though.

This is apparently coming to Switch in November. No idea how that will work, but I am willing to double dip if it is done well.

My PC couldn't handle the game very well, so I'll pick this up if its reception is good. This could easily be a poorly handled port simply to take advantage of the Switch's popularity.

New expansion: Gathering Storm coming in February and will task you to manage climate change. Very cool idea that has obviously never been used in the series before.

Bad news; My interest in the vanilla Switch version has taken a pretty big hit. Though it would still be nice to have on a long flight to Vegas, where I’m scared to bring my laptop for fear of breaking it. :funny:

Is this worth paying the 30 bucks for on ipad? It’s apparently the full version minus map editing. I played up to civ 5 like a rabid obsessive, but civ 6 does seem worth the upgrade.

Did anyone play civ 1 or 2, where you also went to alpha centuri? Those were the good old days.

Can’t speak for ipad (though reviews are good) but the game is definitely worth updating.

And the Switch version is on sale for $40 at Target. Don’t think I’ll be able to resist despite my previous comments lol.

I played it for the first time ever on the Switch due to PC limitations, and I've been really enjoying it. I just started my third game, and so far, I like it more than Civilization V a bit.

During mine and my husband's first game, it did crash for both of us a few times in the later stages of play (Modern/Atomic Era onward), which I presume was due to all the additional animations being loaded. Neither of us have had any issues since that first game though, so if it wasn't a problem with our game/console, it was probably fixed/patched already.
