Crysis 2 - I like it, but not married to it yet.

Alpha Protocol - I heard bad things, but I actually liked the game. Lot of choices that actually mattered, quicker dialogue than games like Mass Effect, and it was nice to see an RPG like this in this type of setting (ie, more "real world"). Don't quite understand why it was so unliked in comparison to other games of this nature.

I agree some of the criticism was too harsh for Alpha Protocol but I can see why they were disappointed with the game. Theres really not much RPG in it when it comes to mobility and exploration. Its a nice concept to set it in the modern world but was on the low side in execution. AP should have been like Dues Ex 3 but in the modern world

I'd agree with those criticisms. There really wasn't any exploration, and in that sense it was a rigid and linear 3rd person action game in Mass Effect's body. The environments were pretty bland overall.

I guess I just liked the several decisions that felt like they had a real outcome on the rest of the game, and those decisions carried over to numerous conversations throughout. It made me want to play the game again, and Mass Effect never did that. Mass Effect's decisions and conversations felt more like just good and evil choices, and not as intricate to the plot.

ME is clearly a superior game, but I didn't think this was that far off overall and preferred some things about it.

I recently downloaded all the add-ons for Fallout: New Vegas and have been playing those in my spare time. It makes me anxious for the next Elder Scrolls series, because Bethesda makes great games.

New Vegas is from Obsidian Entertainment, Bethesda only published it.

OK, but I'm glad they copies Bethesda's design and engine and everything! At least Bethesda approved it.

What? Bethesda's engine sucks! Luckily, they did a new one for Skyrim.

Btw, some people at Obsidian worked on the original Fallouts 1 & 2, if anyone, they know best how to make a Fallout game. Bethesda copied them when they did Fallout 3.

Bought DJ Hero 2 bundle on a whim as I found it for $15... played it a little until my dog ate the disc (I adopted a second puppy dog).

Gamefly sent me Dirt 3... played it for a bit until my dog at the disc (same incident). Sent Gamefly $30 to have a new shiny coaster with teeth marks in it.

Gamefly sent my FEAR 3... can't get the disc to work for more than a few seconds... dog did not eat it... the (likely) 13 year old that rented it before me appeared to have used it to sand down a rough surface and as a booger holder.

Puppy also ate the case for Brink, and the case and manual to Midnight Club Los Angeles.

It's not a good time to be a game in my house.

I'm gonna bump Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions up to an 8. Very fun game. I liked playing as Ultimate and Noir the best. Too bad Edge of Time is getting terrible reviews. It also doesn't have Ultimate or Noir. I think we solved that puzzle.

Deus Ex: Human Revolution - 9/10 thus far. It is pretty difficult. If I get caught sneaking around I'm usually dead in seconds. That is why I've invested alot of points in cloaking and hacking.

Also played Rage for a little while and it is great. Will definitely buy once the price comes down.

Gonna lower Deus Ex to an 8.8. Great game, but the storyline was far too short.

Mortal Kombat (360) - It's probably just me, but I have trouble caring about fighting games anymore. I used to love them back in the day, but now I don't have the patience to learn all the move set for 20+ characters, they feel very restrictive, and aren't the graphical powerhouses they used to be. I played MK halfheartedly for 45 minutes, got bored and quit.

I liked the storymode in Mortal Kombat, except the Shao Kahn fights.

I think fighting games nowadays want you to master one character then go online.

Lol I always late to the party..

I started Grand Theft Auto 4 after getting 1 Prestige in Black Ops. Decided to really focus on COD multiplayer when MW3 comes out.

I think by X-mas I will get one high quality game.

Last Year I picked Red Dead Redemption for the Xbox 360 and loved it.

Saints Row 3 (360)... I'm over 7 hours in, and it's two tons of fun, but I'm leaning toward "not as good as 2" at the moment. It seems to be a handful less activities than in 2. I miss playing a cop and breaking up fights between pirates and ninjas, or spraying people with sewage, or escorting hookers around. The activities they do have (insurance fraud, mayhem, drug trafficking), appear to have only 3 levels... easy, medium, and hard... compared to 6 or 7 in the previous game. Also gone are the drive through churches to get "forgiveness", which I always thought was funny. Instead you have to walk into your crib or an owned business.

In the place of missing activities is a shit ton of "clear out the gang" territory battles and survival challenges... those are trite and repetitive. I wish games would quit abusing those modes (*looks at Crackdown 2*) in substitution for real activities. A few are fine, but 50 in a game is crappy.

But, still... there is a crap-ton to like about it. Still wildly fun in a juvenile way, and I've hardly touched the story missions yet. The customization and options are still really impressive, and the story missions I have played have been entertaining.

I've probably put over 25 hours into Fortune Street (8.5) this week. Still have one character (26 in total), two boards (18 in total), and dozens of little extras to unlock. It's similar to Monopoly but more detailed and complex with districts, forced property buyouts, stocks, etc. So if you're a fan of Monopoly, a big fan, and have a Wii, you should pick this one up.

And any review that compares it to Mario Party is really inaccurate, ignore them. Fortune Street isn't nearly as luck-based, there are no mini-games besides when landing on the Arcade Space (some boards don't even have it, and those that do only feature four games), and it takes longer to play a game. A young person will put down the controller after a few turns.

Mario Party 9.

Best Mario Party in a long time. For any Mario Party fan, the new gameplay will take a few games to get used to, and even if some liked the previous style more, they'll appreciate this new approach. Boss Battles is my favorite new addition, all the mini-games are fun (I do miss 2 Vs 2, but oh well), and each board (seven total) has it's own unique feel. Another neat feature is the ability to play single player vs single player, players (two or three) vs computer, etc. instead of always playing with 4 characters. All the unlockable vehicles and extras are really nice, too.

On the downside, once you reach the "Almost There" point in the game, luck really takes over. Luck has always been a big part of the Mario Party games, but the final 10/15 spaces of the board can change everything. Story Mode is an improvement I feel over most of the previous titles, but I swear it's rigged or I have the worst luck ever. Online Play would have been such a great feature, it's too bad they didn't include it after the five year wait. Hopefully we finally see Online Play with the first Mario Party title on the WiiU.

8.5/10

Ridge Racer Unbounded (PS3) 7/10 Most of the gameplay has been adapted before, nothing new

Super Mario 3D Land (3DS) 10/10 I never thought a new Mario game could be on par with the Galaxy ones, this game is a beast, hands down
