Never heard the national anthem in front of a concert. Or a tv show. Or a movie.

They have had it before school board meetings, assemblies, and stuff like that. So I guess maybe just school events lol.

The previous NFL playbook already had some terminology in it, that players should stand when the anthem is played. I don't remember now what was it exactly, but it's the team responsibility or whatever those rules are then pretty much followed.

Smith brought up the fact that until 2009—eight years and a new Presidential administration after 9/11—players weren’t on the field for the national anthem and instead generally remained in the locker room. According to Smith’s boy (and the researcher at ESPN who checked it), the switch happened “because it was seen as a marketing strategy to make the athletes look more patriotic.”

The DoD paid money (almost $7m in 2015) to various professional sports leagues (and a few colleges) to honor the troops in pro-military ceremonies and JumboTron advertisements.

I remembered the national anthem at a lot of things growing up and then realized it was just school stuff.

Indoctrination at an early age is more effective. This is what they are doing to students in Hong Kong to make them love China.

Not sure what is ironic about it or what you mean by it. And it seems you are conflating approving of Trump's presidency with love of the country. Two entirely different concepts.

And the anthem thing in school has nothing to do with Trump, although what Trump is doing now is trying to hijack "patriotism". He dictates what is patriotic and what is not. If you do not toe his line, you are condemned as unpatriotic.

Under new government directives, children as young as 1 year old are now being taken away from their parents when they arrive at the border seeking asylum together. Separating young children from parents for no reasons...

Animals may have more empathy than those who make these policies.
