The US image suffers a lot in 2017. A country's international goodwill is an important soft power. A tarnished reputation makes it difficult for a country to seek cooperation from other governments. |

Could care less that they kneel. The constitution is more important to me than the flag. |

Groucho wrote: Jedi Master Carr wrote: Could care less that they kneel. The constitution is more important to me than the flag. That is the correct answer. It's not, the correct answer would involve "Couldn't care less" instead. Why is it that Americans say "Could care less" so often? It suggests some level of interest. |

You're right; I read that too fast. The proper phrase is "couldn't care less." I don't know what people say that! I had a story submitted to one of the anthologies I edited that used that phrase wrong three times. Had to correct the author, who apologized. People say it without thinking about it. |

Larry David also gets this wrong, which particularly annoys me because he is clearly a very intelligent person and someone that I idolise. Seriously, every time he says it in Curb it's "could care less". |

Well, no one person can know everything (unless you're _autism because he checks Wikipedia before every post). |

It’s not actually wrong. It’s an old stand up joke, that either Seinfeld or David coined. It’s along the lines of I could care less, because if I couldn’t care less, I wouldn’t bring it up. It’s the notion that why do people argue about something if they say I couldn’t care less. Obviously I do care, so it’s just I could care less. When I say nothing, I couldn’t care less. |

I think it's a short version of "There's nothing I could care less about" |

Yeah but if Algren is Mad at Larry David it’s obviously the former. Couldn’t care less is stupid because people always talk about what they couldn’t care less about. Why bring it up then? Could care less is right. |

lol. Americans will jump through hoops to rationalize their idiocy. It's wrong, the whole world is laughing at your lack of understanding basic English, and that's all there is to it. |

Variety's post: Quote: Donald J. Trump sends "warmest condolences and sympathies" to victims of deadliest mass shooting in U.S. history 133 total engagements (minus comments). Over 50 were Angry. What the fuck is wrong with Americans that you have to be angry at this? |

Many people do not trust him or question his legitimacy, based on his past records. Plainly speaking, he lies too much. |

Algren wrote: I will always have the last laugh. You're American. You elected a fucking reality TV personality as your president. End of. Retarded people genuinely do laugh at anything, so I don't take offense, and why wouldn't you have a final laugh. That's the thing I never got about you. You have this mentality of like "Zing! I totally just got him" when no one cares, and you didn't even come close. I had nothing to do with voting for Trump. You do realize you've never been right about anything on here? |

That wasn't a Zing, the person you're zinging has to be present when you say it and it needs some wit. Just for future reference. |

I moved on 10 years ago, you're the one that had a problem with an actual explanation of the term "could care less" It's used mostly in sarcastic situations. PS, you're not explaining anything. You just make random declarations. |
