Post 2016 Election: Back To The Future?
Welp. Its that time. Marco Rubio just scheduled his first ever visit to Iowa. Hillary Clinton is stepping down as Secretary of State. Deval Patrick is saying he will finish out his term as governor, and may not run again. Chris Christie backhanded Romney a week before the election to ensure Christie can run in 2016. But perhaps the most interesting storyline to follow will be this:

2016 election: Hillary Clinton vs. Jeb Bush?

www.politico.com/news/stories/1112/83550.html?hp=t3_3

Hillary is going to disappoint many if she does not run. if she runs, there look to be no Barack Obama's blocking her path to the nomination this time around. She would have 2 popular President's campaigning for her. She is the 'star' of the Obama cabinet, and has earned universal acclaim.

Jeb Bush is a Bush, but he is more moderate and has a much better image than his brother. He would likely carry Florida, worked on immigration reform there, and is married to a latino woman. He would likely please both the Republican party establishment as well as the more moderate ones seeking to bring in new demographics.

Don't be surprised if 2016 sounds a lot like 1992 did. Bush vs. Clinton. Maybe even Ross Perrot wil join

If it really was Hillary vs Jeb and Hillary won then I would say the Dems aren't losing the Presidency for a very long time.

Me...I could do without another deceptive Bush in the Presidency. I would however be comfortable with Rubio or Christie. I'm tired of this nomination process putting up geriatric folks against youthful sprite opponents.

If Hilary runs, she would likely win. That would be so awesome. First female president and the first So if a male presidents wife is "first lady", would that make Bill "first gentleman"? LOL.

No way another Bush will be a candidate for the GOP. The name has already been sullied by both jr and Sr George

I agree but it's funny how I also saw an article in USA Today about Jeb's son George P !! Bush filing to eventually run for something in Texas. He's 36, so it's a long time down the road.

Hilary's reputation has increased dramatically over the past 4 years.

She has gotten a lot of respect and praise from Moderates and a lot of Republicans.

So I think if she runs in 2016, she would do well with the base and moderates.

I never really liked Obama, always thought Hilary was the real leader between the two.

Hilary would be moderate so I think some liberals would not like her to run.

Hilary would be Obama 2.0. Great. Wonderful. Why do liberal Democrats have such low expectations and never pressure their leaders? You're electing what would have once been moderate Republicans and calling it victory.

That is because most democrats would be classified as Centrists or Conservatives compared to the rest of the Western world.. ^^^

Meaning a hard left Liberal President simply would not have enough support to do anything especially from congress...

Too early to say. Who would have predicted Obama in 2008? He was just a local Illinois politician running for the Senate at the time.

For all we know, it will be Elizabeth Warren.

Oh God not Warren or Biden..

A snobby lady and a Goofy Old Man ....

Warren lacks strong leadership skills...

I prefer someone with years of experience in 2016.. Like a Governor.
No more community activists... :funny: :funny:

American needs a strong leader in 2016 that can unify the nation.

The only hard liberals in Washington are the two independents Bernie Sanders and Argus King of Maine. They are practically Socialists. There is no one in the democratic party who is that far left.

Bernie's an unrepentant social democrat/democratic socialist. No idea on Angus King.

Well as of now for the Democrats, the question of if Hilary will run or not?

Jeb Bush is a good guy but his Brother killed his chances and Jeb is a guy who would know that...

So Rubio Christie are the top Choices

For the democrats they should pick someone with strength and experience like a Andrew Cuomo, not just pick the guy who speaks really well.

People like Joe Biden and Warren will imo send the Democrats back out of the White House.
Demographics are on the Democrats side but I am quite certain that Warren and Biden will not get the massive turnouts of young people and minorities that Obama got.

Whats with you guys and Warren?
Lol Warren just reeks of being another East Coast Liberal...

She just seems like another John Kerry.. ( :pinch: )

How many democrats have been owned in Presidential elections by picking such candidates.

I don't see her ability to connect to the average person like Obama is able to.

I think that the next Democratic candidate will be someone to the right of Obama. I doubt they will move further to the left...

I'm pretty sure this last election showed that the right isn't as strong as anticipated in this country, especially with the youth which is a growing demographic.

I have a few issues with Warren, but she's a working-class woman from Oklahoma that has pushed some serious reform for banks. And to the right of Obama...why don't we just hand the country to Republicans? There's absolutely nothing about Obama's economic policy that isn't Washington-Consensus Reagan conservatism.

I think Hillary vs Christie is a good bet for now. Rubio screams the Repub VP choice IMO

I wouldn't rule out Perry for the Repubs, he was just too much of a n00b this time media wise but otherwise fits the profile/look of a nominee, they just have to get him up to W level respectability in front of a camera

Right now I think both sides should do whatever they can to avoid another Gore/Romney/Kerry stiff white male who acts like a businessman/lawyer. That's just not going to get people excited anymore. That's why I think Christie is the right choice for the Repub nomination, being fat in a way makes him a more fresh choice. Like W he has "I could have a beer with that guy" appeal going for him. Christie could have much more personal appeal than Romney
