So the election isn't over so soon. Because once they start, it's over. |

First debate is tonight, and it's Romney's last chance. Going in to the conventions, Obama had a slim lead overall on Romney. After the conventions, and thanks to some missteps from Romney's campaign, Obama has a much bigger lead. The key issue, and the one that will likely be the biggest factor in who becomes the next president, is unemployment/economy/national debt. The person who has the best plan to drive down unemployment, balance the national budget, and increase consumer confidence, and articulates it better during the debates, will likely come out on top. But coming into the debates behind, Romney has to be especially clear on what he wants to d, and why it's better than giving Obama another 4 years. It could be interesting, but I doubt anything said tonight will be as good as Clinton's speech at the DNC. |

lol @ Romney's "that's not what I'm gonna do" re: taxes Hope he does pull a 180 and sticks his finger at the GOP. Unfortunately, he's not going to do that. |

couldn't romney have used his campaign trail anecdotes about people in need to discuss govt. waste...rather than talking about getting rid of big bird |

I wish someone would inject Obama with caffeine or something right now though. He's coming across as bizarrely low energy compared to Romney. |

Oh Jim Lehrer. He just doesn't give two fucks anymore, apparent by the eyerolls. Screw the time limit. Obama though is clearly winning. Romney is like a third grader who will keep screaming until people respect him. |

jmovies wrote: Obama though is clearly winning. Eh, I don't know. It looks like someone got it through Romney's thick, luscious, hair-covered skull to actually emote tonight. Meanwhile Obama's debating with the same fervor as John Kerry. He maybe shouldn't have had him stand in for Romney. |

I don't think either of them are really winning. Obama's been too low-key but Romney has been all over the place. I expected this debate to be a wash and I think it will be. |

"We're a nation that believes we're all children of the same God." Unless you're skin color isn't white, are a homosexual, are handicapped, have a vagina, or are lumped in with the rest of the (at least) 47% who won't vote for Romney. Then you're screwed. |
