Post Project Third Term
Will Trump run for a third term or moreover, will he remain as the “President” or whatever head of state title he comes up with in February of 2028?

People didn’t think Project 2025 would actually happen and that it was just a boogeyman, and now we are gutting all of the federal government including four star generals and admirals to be replaced by Trump loyalists. Soon Medicare and medicaid and possibly social security will be gutted. It is fully underway. Now Trump is talking about running again and there is a legit movement to bring it forward including support in Congress.

I seriously doubt we will have a free and fair election ever again. And you can call me crazy but I have been right on all my Trump skepticism thus far during Trump 2.0.

I think it's too hard to have the rules changed and Supreme Court is controlled by non hard right Republicans Barrett, Gorsuch, Kavanaugh and Roberts.

You’ve been right about nothing but your irrational emotions.

Edit: Like I said before, Trump continues to do everything he can to make security forces, courts, and elections do whatever he wants. Project 2025, and a Christian nationalist agenda are not the reality.

This is what I’m talking about you, guys lack the intelligence to evaluate your own lack of intelligence. When your emotions are a self-fulfilling prophecy, you think you’re right regardless of reality, nuance, detail or anything of substance.

What if you just ignore the courts?

Also Walz is too old and would be a mistake. The perfect pick for the Dimocrats

Your completely idiotic shit is worse than Project 2025, and more accurately the cause rather than symptom.

Because I ignore the courts, and I won’t allow it.

This is the end of this conversation.

Of course not he’s just playing to the base. Just like how we’re not actually annexing Canada.

He seems to be mostly joking around here, he actually plays the Canada 51st state thing more straight and has repeated it more times, though it obviously won't happen.

Sounds more and more like he will be seeking a third term and I guarantee the right wing base will justify and not just the cooks crazy ones. I mean the mainstream right had to justify to themselves to support a felon so why is ignoring the constitution to make America great again for a third term a stretch? Why is supporting the Trump family as a monarchy and ending elections a stretch? If you were to go back in time ten years ago and ask would you support a felon to run indefinitely for president you would have outraged I even brought it up, now you will defend it. This is how a movement so antithetical to American ideals happens

He would have to face Obama if third term became legal.

Democrats constantly show they won’t stoop to the GOP’s level, particularly Obama who preached taking the high road. So that won’t happen

I think it's too unlikely. But the important thing is that the idea is now in people's heads. So the constitution will probably be amended at some point for a future president.

It’s about finding a loophole, at least one to feed the public and ignore the courts

Yes.

Trump also seems to be un-convict-able, so if he just went ahead and ran for a third term, disputed the election results, refused to leave the White House, etc. etc. then he would essentially have his third term. Nobody is going to arrest him. He can pretty do whatever he wants. Definition of a dictator.

Post Re: Project Third Term
I made this thread like a year ago. It was obvious he was going to do it. He basically said he was going to do it. No one is gonna stop him from doing it (what are Republicans gonna do? Not vote for him? LOL I'd love to see the day.)

This is what the people wanted and he's gonna win the next "election" with like 96% of the "vote." It's fitting that democracy should die by its own hand.

It's also fitting that Shack will be able to live his dream as Trumpmurican after his country gets invaded during the third term. :funny:

The same Supreme Court that denied his 2020 election challenge won't let him do it, whether it was his choice or Mitch forcing him to pick more moderate people, Kavanaugh, Barrett, Gorsuch and the previous appointed Roberts are the only ones actually trying to fairly interpret the law instead of the 3 Democrats and Thomas/Alito who are left/right wing enough that they rubber stamp their side no matter what.

It's more likely that he will start a war (or claim that they are already in one) and use that as an excuse to postpone elections.

Or that whoever gets elected next for the Republicans is not-so-secretly controlled by Trump behind the scenes which is another classic dictator move.

What I am fairly confident in is that it will not be a normal election cycle or a peaceful transfer of power if the Democrat candidate wins. He is clearly YOLO'ing it. I think he sees himself as a great historical figure whose destiny it is to expand the American empire.

It’s no more serious than his claims about Greenland. Tariffs are a real issue because it’s the economy, and far too much money is at stake.
