Hm, it appears contro more scared people off from PT9/11 then ingrigued.

And that's damn good for Football. I'd also like t give a shoutout to College Football on Saturday, which topped 12M viewers, probably the first Saturday program to do so in years.

Well... I'm just not interested in anything that's fictionalized about 9/11, and I'd already seen the docu about the two brothers when it first aired. So... yeah. Not really anything interesting on for me last night.

According to the Accociated Press, The Path to 9/11 got 13M viewers, and 9/11 got 10.3M.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, SNF got 20.7M.

Looks like NBC is benefitting from the football deal.

Thats a good number for the premiere of the Simpsons. It shows that the quality moved up again, I can't believe its its 18th Season, and I think for at least 15 it was a top 20 show of the year.

I'm curious to see how much football is going to hurt Desperate Housewives in the ratings now that Sunday Night football is on network TV, and is basically "Monday Night Football".

Probably not *that* much considering how female DH's audience is.

I think football will only be one of the things that will affect DH's ratings, but it really comes down to the fact that Grey's Anatomy isn't around (which I think will hurt it, as it started out in the beginning that GA needed DH, but turned halfway last season into DH needing GA, so I think there will be a bit of a dip for that reason. Also, the 2nd season was not well received at all by most. Thus, the third season should feel the brunt of that, and it's only 1/3 into the season that I see a turnaround, if the quality is there.

How could Desperate Housewives have needed Grey's Anatomy when it was on before it? That doesn't make any sense.

The Simpsons actually has never been a top 20 show. It was just a spectacular performer in the 18-49 group for well over a decade.

Shows feed off of each other when they have similar fanbases. People are more likely to watch DH when there is a new GA on, if that is their main show (ie GA), and they don't watch DH as much, and also, more likely the other way around too. It's similar with Must See TV on NBC in the past, and other TV successes which have been packaged together. Alot of people, will turn to a channel earlier, and catch a show earlier, than the one that they aimed to see. The benefits of grouping shows like DH and GA don't just work one way, but both ways imo. With Must See TV, even with Friends reruns, the 8:30 show clearly would benefit from a new 9:00 pm Seinfeld, even though it might have been on before it. Shows DO benefit in this manner. It has happened multiple times. And while DH was cooling down immensely last season, GA was heating up. I believe that GA saved DH from what could have been a bigger freefall, than what it felt in the ratings.

Thus, DH did imo need GA even though it was before it. The surge of GA in the 2nd half of last year, made many DH fans less likely to stop watching it with GA on immediately after it, than had DH been the sole event for that night. Both shows fed off of each other, bi-directionally. DH helped GA more in the first half of the season, while GA helped DH more in the 2nd half of the season.

Looks like another Fox comedy is DOA. Though they seem to be more forgiving of Sunday comedies.

I found The War At Home last night to be hilarious. Kind of reminded me a little of
Married... With Children. When the 14 year old son went to his parents with a few
questions about sex... :hahaha:

Not bad for The Amazing Race. Up from last season if I'm not mistaken.

Good for Amazing Race.

Um, people? The 'Til Death episode that aired last night was a rerun that aired at like 7:30 PM. It airs Thursdays.

And I won't be surprised if FOX moves it to Sundays whenever King of the Hill comes back, since it's not faring well on Thursdays with "Happy Hour".

I wonder when Fox is going to realize that 6-7pm central time is a horrible time slot. Why even waste the money of making new episodes, just cancel them instead of putting them in that horrendous time slot.
