| Post subject: | Now That The Dust Has Settled... |
What is the condition here at KJ these days? I haven't been around much to see how the box office, awards, and general movie forums are going. I read that the water cooler sucks. Has filmgasm succeeded in becoming the #1 BOM castoff messageboard community yet? What changes have been made here? |

I think neither WOKJ nor Filmgams are nearly as successful and active as WOKJ was in its prime. Filmgasm has more Water Cooler activity and obviously a far more active awards forum whereas WOKJ still trumps it a lot in the Box-Office department. Somewhat slow on both actually. |

Problem with Filmgasm the more I think about it is it's a site designed for film snobs that can't take the BKB heat and insist on having a forum where there's no arguing, all agreeing with one another on what movies are bad and what's good with no inbetween and it takes forever to get responses going on threads.. I just posted moments ago a thread on NEW MOON beating AVATAR'S Domestic Total and will see how many responses it receives VS here at KJ.. Really, I should say it isn't so much about the responses and how many of them there are but more for, well, actually throwing in disscussion and keep things lively and when it isn't like that, it's boring and hard to stay around there.. I really can't believe that folks abandoning KJ for that site was cause of this site and all the spirited debates and or arguing with one another in various forums and in the end, who cares??? Hell, I noticed a surge in new members here and I wouldn't be surprised if some of them were from here recently and their not using there username to save face for dumping us in the beginning, people like Johnny Boy Savage.. |

Well, it could be worse. KJ had long since slipped, so dividing it in half was obviously going to be felt. Filmgasm doesn't look to have a focus beyond the same old same old that was here. I always felt that it was more fun when there were many contributers. Not water cooler posters, I mean contributers who add to the entire board. That's when BOM was strong, and that's when KJ was strong. That's the only way they'll ever be strong again. |
