I'm going to have to ask again (sorry) if you guys can expand the limit on PM messages. Like how many you can save/have at a time. The current limit is 200 per folder. If it could be expanded to at LEAST 250 per folder it would really be helpful if at all possible. |

I have been backed up for months now. I have to message some people again to get that message back because something gets deleted due to the folder being backed up, where it deletes the oldest ones in that folder. Does it really matter if it's expanded to anyone? It'd really help me out, and maybe a few others too. |

Matters for disk space, the forum's database is big enough as it is (we're talking a multiple GB database with millions on millions of rows). Sorry ... |

Yeah Corpse, have you really not replied to your 200th oldest PM? |

I only have 15 messages in my inbox and probably don't even need to keep that many. |

Shack wrote: Yeah Corpse, have you really not replied to your 200th oldest PM? That's not the problem. Not to sound like miss popular or anything (I don't want this to turn into this sort of discussion at all), but I get around 35/40 PMs (30 fits on a page, and there are 7 pages in the Inbox and per folder) a day and I don't have time to check the ones on the last pages in time before they get deleted for being pushed back. So I decided to make folders (4 are allowed, and if you include the Inbox, that's a total of 1000 PMs) to store those PMs so I can check them later to see which ones I can delete, and which ones I need to save. Some are important PMs that I want/need to keep for personal reasons, some are important PMs that contain tracking info for every week since 2005, etc. And since Aug. 2nd, 2006 when I joined, it's reached a point where I have very little room to move anything or to delete anything. And there's no place for the PMs to go in the Inbox now before they get deleted without me checking them first. It's not a huge problem because I can create a word file to store them or something. I was just asking if it was possible to expand each folder by around 50 or so (a mark above the usual PMs I get in a day so none get deleted before I can check them), because that'd be quite helpful. |

Shack wrote: 35-40 PMs a day? How long does it take you to go through all that? ![]() I was under the impression there were barely even 40 active daily users on this site. ![]() If you're getting that many PMs, it might be best to hand out your regular email to a few of the people you chat with more regularly via the mails. That way it cuts down on space here. I only talk to a handfull of people off these forums, but the few that I do I gave my regular email addie to. |
