Dunno what else to write about, many things are pretty obvious...but if not here are some things.

To change style of forum go to User Control Panel (UCP)->Board Preferences->Edit Global Settings->My Board Style

If you're annoyed by signatures and avatars, UCP->Board Preferences->Edit Display Options->Display signatures/avatars

If you want to have size of your avatar the same size as it was before change to 3.0 board, just re-link it. Or, change the size manually. Both can be done here: UCP->Profile->Edit Avatar

If you want to PM someone directly from a thread, you'll automatically quote the post as well.

Bookmark threads! No need to use favorites of browser, this feature works lovely.

If anyone has more things, just write them here.

Thanks Nebs.

Is there anyway someone here with programming skills can come up with a new Excel to Bulletin Board converter? Having to do all that by hand will take hours for the complicated charts I use for the Tomato Picker game... :notme:

And obviously change data, add rows, cells.

dailymotion and myspace would be good.

Can't find MySpace, DailyMotion and Google Videos will come soon.

Also, YouTube code is changed, now you can put whole link between tags. Guess that might be better for people.

EDIT: Nm. Google Video seems same as YouTube now, atleast they transfering me to it, and something is changed with DailyMotion. So, for some time, no embedding of those videos.

I'm not smart enough to figure that out. I tried copying it, but its a gif, not an excel chart -- don't know how to change it...

Your modern technology frightens and confuses me!

Also, looks great only in prosilver. Plus, I'd backspace after each [ /tr ] so not to make header that screwy.

I don't know how to do that. I can take a photo of it, but I don't know how to save a print screen.

Post subject:  Re: Small FAQ about new board

To print screen, just press Print Screen button (next to F12, on the right). Then open up Paint (Start->All Programs->Accessories->Paint) and press ctrl-V to paste the picture. Then go to save, and save it. Try in jpg or gif formats, not bmp.

Then go to imageshack.us and upload the pic there.

If you're on a PC, just hit print screen and then open a new blank canvas in Paint and ctrl-v. If you're on a Mac, hit shift-cmd-4 and a crosshair will appear. Drag it across what you need to see, and it will automatically save it to your desktop.

Post subject:  Re: Small FAQ about new board

The problem is that the current Excel file I have does all the math for me and everything, and with the old converter, all I had to do was copy and paste...

Nebs are you suggesting that every single day, in order to upload the chart, I will have to copy he numbers from the Excel charts by hand every time a film changes? If that's the case, the game may not be updated every day like it originally was! That's a lot of work!

Here's hoping someone makes a new Excel to BB program or figures out why the old program no longer works....

Post subject:  Re: Small FAQ about new board

I have no idea how it looks, that above is just how I thought it might work (which btw, looks now a bit ugly due to board thinning, maybe it would be better to have two sets). Think it wouldn't be a problem to enter formulas there, can send your sheet to me? Or better yet, upload it here as attachement. Zip it first. And I'll try to convert it...

Author:  Groucho [ Wed Aug 01, 2007 9:24 pm ]
Post subject:  Re: Small FAQ about new board

Well, the Excel chart I use is being PM'd to you; it won't let me attach an Excel file... but the issue is how to upload it into a reasonable version to this new Bulletin Board. I'm not sure what you are suggesting as a solution.

Author:  Nebs [ Wed Aug 01, 2007 9:35 pm ]
Post subject:  Re: Small FAQ about new board

It wont be elegant, that's for sure. Atleast actual sheet. Post might actually look good.

Yeah, can't attach excel files, zipping it first helps.

EDIT: If attaching doesn't work, tell what's the formula. For instance, Transformers is at 40% RT ratings, Player 1 predicted 22%, Player 2 77%. How you go from there? Maybe deducting from 100? That could be nice, so Player 1 would be at 82, Player 2 at 63.

Anyway, post if attaching doesn't work. Will check it out tomorrow. Off to sleep.

Fixed.

In your profile, you can change how the date shows up. For example, you can make it say:

Tue, July 17, 2007 4:15 or July 17, 2007, 4:15 Tue or 07 17 2007 etc etc

You had selected "Custom" and then entered a 7 in the custom field. You probably never meant to do it, or thought that was where you entered how many hours away from ET you wanted the board. Thus showing 7 everywhere there would normally be a date!

In any event, I fixed it and you shouldn't have a problem anymore.
