Can we get the spoilers question cleared up - and maybe a suggestion to Torrino - you could have whiten the name out and not deleted it.

Especially since the front page says

*Everyone's A Critic
This is the place to give us YOUR reviews on movies you have seen. Discussion of movies is welcomed, but please do not comment if you have not previously seen the movie! Spoilers are ALLOWED inside.

Um, way to respect those who might want to read the poster reviews before seeing the movie...

I think some people get a some weird sense of power from spoiling movies for others...

No surprise that you or another MOD takes a hit at Goldie when I did nothing wrong.

*Everyone's A Critic

Take to Eagle if you have a problem with this.

* Anyway, too bad you read incorrectly into my post, anyone who has seen the movie knows the joke that I am playing out.

* Surprised that you didn't comment on other people's post as others posted things that they wouldn't know if they hadn't seen the movie - thus a spoiler.

* Also as I said and I think MOD Z has agreed.

The MOvie section is suppose to be spoiler free. Here people are analyzing the movie so spoilers should be expected.

* Also speaking about spoilers, maybe you should check out the crowd report section - people sometimes in their posts / reviews say spoilers - which shouldn't happened in the crowd section.

* And lastly instead of deleting it - you could have used you MOD powers to whiten it out - which I think have I seen some do - maybe Libs was one. But No.

Buit I think you more wanted to bash me, incorrectly of course, than make the situation better.

ETC.

a) Goldie, i don't see why you have to continually blast people while making your issues known to everyone. you're doing this repeatedly and its getting annoying.

b) I've read over your concern and its a genuine one. I have an answer for it but let me speak with eagle so i'm clear on it too and i'll get back to you within a couple of hours hopefully ... if not, then by the end of the day.

Dearest Baba,

No Rush to answer it until you guys are comfotable with the answer.

and

as this is, I think, a site issue, no need to get back to me individually.

Maybe some suggestions

Add to the comment - something like - spolier free talk in in the Movie section

But then again if spoilers are not allowed - is there a time frame on spoilers - and - really every movies have some un-known news, spoilers, etc.

The ending of Psycho
Who is Luke's father.
That guy was a girl
Who the killer really was.

ETC.

Goldie, what you did was fine, it was my fault for not clarifying more clearly.

Spoilers are allowed inside, but we do ask that you use white font for all spoilers, for those who do not want to read it.

Torrino should have just edited your post to make the spoiler white.

In the future goldie, when you have an issue, I would appeciate it if you could bring the issue up without using things like:
-No surprise that you or another MOD takes a hit at Goldie when I did nothing wrong.
-Buit I think you more wanted to bash me, incorrectly of course, than make the situation better.

These comments are not needed, and do nothing to help the situation. I will alter the description of Everyones a Critic, to make it more clear the guidelines.

Question to Baba, Eagle and Torrino

************************

How is this a spoiler when he is listed in the IMDB credits.

Removed by Admin

With this information - would this still be considered a spoiler?

Goldie ... consider anything not marketed out ... a spoiler ...

the fact that chaz was who he was ... is a big deal ... and you're outside the Critics forum right now yet you put up the actor's name again. last i checked, this wasn't a spoiler forum.

the filmmakers expect the revelation of the character to be a big deal .. so yes ... think for a second and you'll realize its a spoiler.

Baba if you read the above, I put it up as a question considering it came from IMDB.

And OK anything not marketed - that is going to make for lots of spoilers or complaints about missing spoilers.

Personally, I don't like this ruling but we will see how it works out.

******************

Then also based on your comments, Baumer's post in the WC thread also would have been considered a spoiler. That def wasn't marketed.

FYI - no one has whiten that one out yet.

There's bigger problems. What exactly can be considered a spoiler now? Any plot points are considered spoilers, and it's very difficult to write a review without mentioning plot points! So, it's like one big forum of white text, if everyone follows those rules! That basically defeats the purpose of people who want to know what to see from new releases. I think the "Read at your own risk" thing was fine. The fact of the matter is you can't just cater to every little thing from every forum member on every subject. If a complaint arises, it's always resolved in one way just to patch things up.

I'm saying the idea is fine, but is there a line of what are considered spoilers? If someone dies at the start of a movie, and I don't know anything about it and someone spoils it, is it a spoiler? It's so close to the beginning, but it's still a spoiler. Anything can be considered a spoiler to someone! I'm just not seeing how this "white text" thing is going to cover it. What's considered a spoiler to the majority? If all spoilers are considered, why use white text? Why not just advertise "SPOILERS - CAUTION" instead?

Argh, even my head hurts. Sorry... I'm just trying to clarify. If I have to use white-text reviews from now on, I will. Or I won't post reviews at all. They kind of suck.

Yes Mr X, as you know I agree.

Also what about a time period.

Is the ending of Psycho still a spoiler 60's - or the Crying Game 80's - or Sixth Sense 99

or a movie from 3 weeks ago? Etc.

**********************************

And even Baumer in the WC thread listed something that should have been a spoiler. Think this shows how hard it is to correctly xlassify spoilers.

*********************************

Maybe we should just put everything in white text.

That would solve everything.

Well, anyone who saw the movie knows that the filmmakers try to hide his identity. It's supposed to be a surprise.

And, forgive me if I'm wrong, but are the surprises that make movies like Se7en and The Usual Suspects supposed to be broken? I know this is on a smaller scale, but still...

He's shadowed out while walking down the stairs for a reason, you know.

then he would have been left off the castting

and

but you didn't have a problem with Baumer giving away the ending.

Too bad I was hoping for some remarks for the site as you can see others / Mr. X have questions on this spoiler issue.

ok so spoilers are allowed if hidden in the middle of paragraphs???????????????????? OK.

and I didn't think it was a spoiler when I posted it

and I posted it like that because anyone who saw the movie knows the thumbs up have a meaning.

and again, at least I was following the rules as it was stated

I didn't say it was allowed in the middle of a review, Goldie.

What I'm saying is that when torrino makes a comment about you putting a huge spoiler the way you did, and you compare yourself to baumer, you should realize that there's a difference.

There's no possible way someone could miss your spoiler. Someone could miss his.

No cause Torrino made a stupid comment that everyone knows that spoilers aren't allowed and everyone follows that but me.

Forgetting about what I think of Torrino, that INCORRECT statement by Torrino deserved a reply that lots of others did it and I even commented that I was only bumping the first spoiler that I saw to show Torrino that he was wrong.

and added on that he made a big deal when according to the forum, what I did was allowed.

Goldie,

The way you posted the spoiler made it seem like the whole thing was a joke to you, and/or that you would enjoy the fact that someone may stumble upon it.

Post spoilers, but do so with a purpose, or when actually discussing a movie. You did nothing but make a statement that was a spoiler, for no purpose at all, other than to state that 'Chaz Rules'.

End of story, move on please.
