You wouldn't have been banned had I not been a twatcunt with that thread. So I am responsible for you ultimately being banned. Which is delicious.

Deal with it.

You deal with it.

That doesn't even make sense.

Capitalizing the words and adding three exclamation points doesn't make the point any more valid. It might even make it less valid. Congratulations.

Not a single person would've been banned had that thread not been created. So yes, I am ultimately the cause of everyone having been banned. I only take joy from it because you were one of them, Chippy.

Yeah, I've wanted to change my name in the past, to stuff like Whorrgan, korrganskankskank88, Korrwhobagan, but I always assumed a douchebag asshole prickface would steal my name to be a douchedouche, so I didn't. Name stealing like that shouldn't be allowed.

First, no, that would've never happened.

Second, Chip, you too...I want this back and forth between you two stopped asap, not a single damn post.

So, assuming I'd want to change my name for a short period of time...my original screenname would remain reserved for me?

of course. We only allow others to take other people's name if they do have permission from the other other party. We were under the assumption that Baba and loyal aare good pals so that it was allowed but I guess we were wrong when I heard that loyal stuck a firecracker in Baba's ass

Among terrible ideas, that probably takes the cake.

It may be easy now, because our user base is fairly small and you know a majority of the users and their names, but you are creating a huge mess for yourself if this site grows significantly.

Post Re: The recent name changes are annoying
Well, to be fair, it is not something that has, or will happen often. bABA's change came soon after TonyMontana's name changing thread, and I took that in mind, and I think bABA did too when he requested the change. I've even had an idea to change every user's name as proposed in that thread. Talk about terrible ideas. Though, think I would've enjoyed it...for a while, until first post in the Site.

Anyway, we wont replace names just because we can, and just because users want that. If there's an occasion where we think it might be beneficial, then maybe it'll be allowed. I thought last one was, many of you did not... it could easily be that I was in the wrong. In any case, due to this thread as well, we'll have to think harder about such things in the future.

Now, on topic, but not about this last topic...would like to see what members think about this:

Change of name every few months (every three, or four months? or 3-4 times per year?), plus, in special cases, as for various clubs or groups, where people's names would have to allude to the posters original names (e.g., the Munk Knight, BKB and the Chipmunks, etc.). I feel this is something about what we at staff could easily agree with, and now wondering how you guys feel about it...

I think limiting changes to once ever 3 or 4 months would be benificial. It's not 6, but if enforced, it still forces users to take a name and keep it. I have no qualms with someone wanting a name change, my main issue is when they then up and change it to something else two weeks later, so in that case, even a 3 month restriction would be great.

I don't care much frankly afterall. It was just kinda stupid, but whatever.

As for myself, I doubt I'll ever really get myself to change my screenname. I like it the way it is.

Who is Mahone?

(Could we have a glossary of the history of the changes of usernames similar to the thread archive in the Everyone's A Critic forum?)

The admins are supposed to modify the first page of the name change thread each time they change a name. Is that not the case, I haven't checked.

Yeah, we used to do that. We stopped for some reason or the other (forgot? too many changes, so we didn't want to bother?...), but I've just updated it, and will continue to do so if people would like to have that.

Okay - - I didn't know about that - - that's just what confused old Bradley needs to navigate the social geography of the World of KJ...

Thank-you very much!!!

(With the news of BOM selling yesterday - - this is the sort of little service that retains/increases the value of KJ. The core asset of KJ, imho, is the forums, which are the best discussion forums I have seen on any topic. The level of discussion (when it doesn't spiral down into grade school name calling) is exceptionally high. Anything you can do to maintain/improve this aspect of KJ will pay off big time down the road, as you add other features around it. As BOM has the great database, KJ has the great forum.)

Let's all root for a big payday for Eagle!!!
