Post Must reads by everyone...
what certain films or essays or short stories do you think everyone should read because of their importance on our way of thinking, our morality and our culture...

I think some of the classics like...

Lord of The Flies, 1984, The Great Gatsby, To kill a Mockingbird and most importantly...

and Orwells essay "Politics and the English Language"....

never read something so true...

Have you read The Magic Mountain? I'd like to try it, but have no time until the summer.

Ulysses, by James Joyce.

Farts, sex and exhilarating, cultured prose.

No, true, as the reality it needs to correspond with in order to be true is, in this case, my personal experience.

Just a personal list. I do not care if it matches the canonical status quo or not:

Agnes Grey by Anne Brontë
The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier & Clay by Michael Chabon
The Bell Jar by Sylvia Plath
The Call of the Wild by Jack London
The Complete Poems of John Keats
A Farewell to Arms by Ernest Hemingway
Great Expectations by Charles Dickens
The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald
Jane Eyre by Charlotte Brontë
Jude the Obscure by Thomas Hardy
Maurice by E. M. Forster
Never Let Me Go by Kazuo Ishiguro
A People's History of the United States by Howard Zinn
The Unconsoled by Kazuo Ishiguro
Wuthering Heights by Emily Brontë
