Post Movie Theater Concession Prices
Saw this on Twitter. I haven't been to a theater chain location in years (two nearest are locally owned theaters), but have prices really gotten this insane?

I would never pay the prices shared below. What is the candy? $7 a box?

A couple of things concern me here. The prices, obviously. But also ... do cinemas really allow people to eat a burger while watching the movie? That "Combo 6" burger looks like it would make a lot of mess on the seats and floor. And from a viewing perspective, it just isn't enjoyable eating something other than finger food (such as popcorn) when trying to watch/concentrate on a movie. You're constantly looking at your damn burger.

Checked the app and they also allow you to preorder.

Prices for my (midwest suburbs) theater:

$16- popcorn + drink
$18- gourmet popcorn + drink
$14 - nachos + drink
$16 - pizza + drink
$22 - pretzel + drink ... this one seems the craziest
$15 - chicken tenders + drink

Not sure how big the pizza is or how many tenders, but those prices are basically the same as a restaurant. Making popcorn, nachos and pretzels the same price (or even more expensive) is what makes no sense.

Those prices (Flava + Rev posted) are insanely expensive.

I only buy hot food when I go to the drive-in (which has been often in recent years) and the prices in AUD are similar or less to the above in USD so I thought we were being screwed but perhaps not as badly as you guys!!

I think fried chicken boneless pieces/tenders (delicious) are $14 and burgers $12-$14.

Nachos $14 AUD (so $9 USD)

Those nachos and pretzels are pretty ridiculously overpriced, even by theater standards.
